Hey,

What's your favorite sit-down dinner restaurant in the Magic Kingdom? I'll be with two ladies who've never been to Disney and we already have 2 sit-downs planned in Epcot and the other parks so want one for the day we arrive.

If "nicest atmosphere" is more important than other considerations, which would you choose? Cinderella's Royal Table? Liberty Tree?

Thanks!

Actually, dh and I really like to take the monorail to one of the monorail resorts for dinner. Kona is my all-time favorite for the food, any of the GF TS restaurants for atmosphere, and California Grill for view. I find the food far, far superior to that found in the MK.

I do not like any sit down restaurant at MK. We take the monorail to Contemporary and eat at CA Grill or to Poly to Ohana's.

Having never been to the Royal Table, I can say that my family and I thoroughly enjoyed Liberty Tree. It was good food, a nice atmosphere and freindly servers. :flower: Hope this helps!

Libert Tree Tavern gets my vote. Great CM's and great food. Also love the early american/colonial decor.

CRT. I loved Cinderella when I was little and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I like LTT but have only been for lunch.

I really like the Plaza, not because it is amazing food so much as I like the atmosphere, the quiet, the air conditioning, and the fact that you can "retreat" from the MK without having to leave. I always feel refreshed when we leave. I also LOVE the malts, and the food is good too.

I'm not that thrilled with any of the sit-downs at MK but if I had to pick amongst the ones in MK, I'd have to say CRT for dinner, then CP for lunch/dinner.

I really like the restaurants in the resorts.

I'd definitely vote for CRT, especially if you're taking people who've never been to WDW before. Last month I took my Mom, who'd never been to WDW. Having lunch in the castle (this was before the character lunch) was probably the highlight of her trip. She just sat there wide-eyed, looking around the whole meal, she thought it was so lovely. But I can't comment on LTT, since it's colonial. She's from the Boston area, and LTT is much like what she could see at home.

If it's for lunch I'd go LTT, for Dinner CRT (neither are character meals at those times)

I'll put my vote in for CRT. Nothing like eating in the castle. It is just beautiful inside and food good, wonderful presentation, and superb service. The castle is what it is all about.

We were there 6/9-6/14 ate at Crystal Palace, Liberty tree, and Tony's in MK..each was unique! I LOVE the decor at Crystal Palace!
Our last night we ate dinner at Tony's Town square. The Lady & the Tramp decor is cute, & the food was good if you like regular Italian food! It was nice being so near the exit after a long day, too.

I'm with those who say there really isn't a good sit-down place at the MK. Any of the resort restaurants on the monorail would be much better.
If absolutely forced to pick it would have to be CRT--and that only for the "atmosphere" of eating in the Castle.

We liked the atmosphere and thought the food was pretty good at CRT. CP has a good breakfast too, with Pooh characters.

I'd recommend the castle for dinner. We had dinner there a few years ago, and will be having dinner there in 6 days!

I had the best filet mignon of my life at the castle, it was so tender it melts in your mouth. :) My DH said his prime rib was good, too.

Service was excellent. We were celebrating our anniversary and they had streamers and confetti on the table for us. And they gave us a set of champagne glasses with the castle logo on them. They wrapped them up in a box and threw in some more confetti too. :teeth: And they brought out a special dessert, complete with a chocolate crown on top, for no charge.

The only drawback, to some people, may be the fact that you can't have a glass of wine with dinner because they don't serve any alcohol at all in the entire Magic Kingdom. This doesn't matter to us, we can have drinks with dinner any other time.

Whichever you choose, I hope you have a great time :)

I appreciate you responses. The castle it is! When should I make reservations for a September 18th visit? I've been to the Magic Kingdom many times and never ate in the castle, so it'll be new for me too. Its great being able to use the Internet to plan the meals.

Thanks!

That is so cool. When did you let them know that it was your anniversary? Was it when you made your PS or when you got to CRT? Going to CRT for dinner in Sept for our 25th anniv. and this would be a nice surprise for DW (as long as they don't do any singing or make a really big fuss)!

Absolutely now!!! I made my ressies exactly 90 days prior (at 8:30 am) and there were only 2 left (and one was at 4:15pm!)!!

Call now and good luck!! :wizard:

From what you're saying, I should make reservations for all of our sit-down meals -- which for us will be every dinner at the park (every night we're there). Ok, will do!
