Hi everyone! We are booked on an inside stateroom on Deck 7 on the Magic. Thinking of changing to an ocean view room on Deck 2. I'm concerned about the noise from Deck 3. I have checked the room reviews, but a lot are outdated. Does anyone who has been on the Magic recently have recommendations for a room on Deck 2? We will have connecting staterooms with my mom if that matters. :) Thank you!

Basically check what is above the rooms. We had no issues with noise in 2116 (Wonder) and 2108 (Magic) as there was a hallway and Promenade lounge above our rooms. Starboard rooms near the aft elevators can have issues with noise from the kitchens above (connecting Lumiere's to Rapunzel's)

We have stayed in 2546 and surrounding cabins several times both on the Magic and Wonder. Never had a problem with noise.

I actually got put in an ocean view cabin on Deck 1 (one of those you can't pick your cabin things - Tran Atlantic last minute) and was bummed out BUT it was wonderful. Very few cabins on that deck and elevators always empty. Due to an issue they offered me a cabin on Deck 2 - near the Forward Elevator Lobby and, hard to believe, but the music from the Walt Disney Theater was very loud! So I didn't move to Deck 2. The Magic is my favorite.

We like Deck 2 aft port side as there is little noise from above. Stayed starboard once and had galley noise.

Try to pick something after the first 10 rooms so the port hole is a little bigger. I like the front because the elevator is usually empty.

We've mostly stayed in connecting cabins on the port side, midship. These are under the long hallway running from guest services to Animator's Palate (but not under the restaurant itself). We never had a noise issue.

We sailed on her last year. The first 5 days we were starboard and had galley noise late at night after the dining room closed. Due to a broken dishwasher that flooded our room, we ended up moving for the remaining 2 weeks of the cruise to a room right under the little BBB store between O'Gills and Fathoms. We didn't hear anything from upstairs. But fair warning, we did sail around 2 tropical systems and hit some rough seas and the waves were NO JOKE. We didn't get sick, but we didn't anticipate the sound of waves hitting the side of the ship to be so loud. It sounded like there was a VERY heavy door slamming. Once I knew what it was, it was easier to sleep thru, but golly!!! lol Good news though? They were VERY intense waves in the middle of the Atlantic during a storm, so now that she's stateside, it shouldn't be a problem.
All that to say, other than the unexpected noise from the storm, we LOVED the location. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Sailing out of NYC several years ago we ran into some rough weather. The swells were so high that the water would sometimes go over our porthole window. I thought that was really cool, but the neighbors in the stateroom next door would scream. Never felt unsafe.

I can imagine! During the day in O'Gills the waves would come up to about half way on their portholes. I'm amazed I didn't get sick.
