My boys will be 8 & 6 when we visit in October. What are some must go to restaurants?

We've never been before. They love seeing all the characters. They like typical kid food. Husband & I like a little of everything, but seafood. Do we need to ask for special tables/areas at restaurants to help make sure we get a good view of the characters?

Thanks for any help!!

DS (now 12) enjoyed the clips played at Sci-Fi. He also really liked seeing Mom and Dad being told to get their elbows off the table and eat all your veggies at 50's prime time. Whispering Canyon was also fun for him as we had a great server and he loved the antics, especially when DH asked for yet another refill and was brought a HUGE container of soda.

My boys (6 & 8) LOVE Chef Mickeys - it's a character meal - we ate dinner there last time - this time I made breakfast ressies - We have started the tradition of this being our restaurant on the first day

Coral Reef is fun because one whole wall is the aquarium and they can watch sharks, turtles, etc swim by - you can request a table right by the aquarium

my sons favorite is Tusker House for breakfast, lunch or dinner @ Trex, or Rainforest, and he enjoyed the Cape May Clambake for breakfast and dinner.
He doesnt eat much at Biergarten but loved going up dancing while the band played. Whispering Canyon is a good time too, fun antics and great shakes.

Since he has a sister we did Cinderellas Gala Feast, which was priceless when the stepsisters got a hold of him, asked him to dance, talked about his sunglasses, he was every shade of red. He does not request there, but it was so much fun.

Our children's favs are Tusker House for breakfast-fun character meal, TRex lots to see to keep boys entertained, Sci Fi, Prime Time and Whispering Canyon fun and entertaining!

All of the ones mentioned, plus:

Mickey's Backyard BBQ at FW
Hoop De Doo Revue also at FW

My DSnow 20 has always demanded that we return to Teppan Edo...we've probably been 10 times...

Asian... Knives....Fire... What more could a boy want? :lmao: He Even loves to shop the Japanese store below... pokemon, Yugioh, asian items, origami, he loves to watch pick a pearl.. and got one for his GF last trip

We also enjoyed "Ohana Character Breakfast ...been there 4x...

Love how they get the kids up to parade around and Stitch usually has tricks up his sleeve....

Great other suggestions from PP's as well..

Have a magical visit !

We have two boys, 16 and 9. My 9 year old favorites are Sci-Fi, Whispering Canyon, Ohana (his very fave), T-Rex, Prime Time, and Rainforest Cafe. He still loves character meals, but in the last couple of years has really begun to request the restaurants where "they do cool stuff" i.e. the antics at WCC and 50s PTC, coconut races etc at Ohana, eating in the cars at Sci-Fi, the ice cave at T-Rex. Oddly enough, his favorite character meal is dinner at 1900 Park Fare. He loves watching the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine in character.

My DS9 claims his favorites are the Crystal Palace and Tusker House breakfasts. I think it's a combination of endless Mickey waffles and characters that do it for him.

Nothing new. Just reinforcing. We have 2 boys: 16 and 14 now. First went when they were 10 and 8. They have loved Sci Fi, WC, T-Rex, Coral, Hoop Dee Doo, 50's PT.

When my boys were younger they loved Chef Mickeys. This next trip we will do Sci-Fi and maybe Whispering Canyon- younger boys also would like T-Rex. Most of the table service restaurants will have kid-friendly food in the kids menus (chicken nuggets, pizza, etc).

Any place with a buffet...nice to let the kids pick what they want and how much, and my oldest is a big eater so he loves the buffet concept.

For character meals- they come to each table so where you sit is not really important (you don't need to have a good 'view' of the characters).

My boys are 16 & 15 and they still love the Donald's Breakfast which is located at the Tusker House. We've been going to that one since our first trip in 2000. They also like Ohana's for dinner. Good food and they play a game or two with the kids. They also enjoyed HDDR when they were about the age of your boys.

I think they could enjoy a lot of the restaurants there, but some top choices could be T-Rex, Sci Fi, Pizza Planet, Rainforest Cafe, 50's Primetime Cafe. Just a few thoughts.

Chef Mickeys is our sons favorite!!
Crystal Palace
Ohana -- our son isnt shy so he will go hula with the girls!
Biergarten in Germany
Kona-- love the ice cream sundae

Whispering Canyon was also fun for him as we had a great server and he loved the antics, especially when DH asked for yet another refill and was brought a HUGE container of soda. >>> I agree, my DS11 also enjoys both Sci Fi AND 50's Prime. I do too. Theyre a lot of fun. Food is better at 50's thou. But Sci Fi has an amazing and unique atmosphere and the burgers/shakes are yummy!

my sons favorite is Tusker House for breakfast, lunch or dinner @ Trex, >>>My son loves these too!
He doesnt eat much at Biergarten but loved going up dancing while the band played. Whispering Canyon is a good time too, fun antics and great shakes.>>> I wouldnt come here counting on boys dancing. Depends on the kid of course, but my boy wouldnt be caught dead dancing. Esp at the age of 8 or younger. LOL!

Since he has a sister we did Cinderellas Gala Feast, which was priceless when the stepsisters got a hold of him, asked him to dance, talked about his sunglasses, he was every shade of red. He does not request there, but it was so much fun. >>>> haha, funny!!!

What more could a boy want? :lmao: He Even loves to shop the Japanese store below... pokemon, Yugioh, asian items, origami, he loves to watch pick a pearl.. and got one for his GF last trip >>>YUP, my son is the same. Demands Teppan Edo everytime, LOVES it. Even picky eaters will like the food. The bonus is the store, my son use to love pokemon and yugi oh.

We also enjoyed "Ohana Character Breakfast >>>> one of our fave places too! Also Cape May breakfast. ...been there 4x...

Love how they get the kids up to parade around and Stitch usually has tricks up his sleeve....

1900 Park Fare is my 9yr ds favorite meal also. He got a kick out of the stepsisters and he LOVED the desserts available.

I recommend Garden Grill for lots of character interaction. My teen boys also currently like Teppan Edo, and Chef Mickey's, when they were younger.

I didn't read through this thread so sorry if I'm repeating what others have said.
First of all don't worry about asking for a special seat characters will come to all tables.
My boys' favorites are Sci-Fi and T-Rex these are must dos for us!
They also love Ohana (character b-fast), Le Chefs de France (Remy from Rattatouie is there- very cute!), Garden Grill (character meal) my DS10 had the best mac&cheese here!!, Chef Mickeys Teppan Edo (hibachi grilling in front of you) There's probably more that I'm forgetting but I'm sure someone mentioned it. Have Fun!! :)

Nothing new here, but my boys (6 & 8) always request Chef Mickey (we go for breakfast) and Whispering Canyon. They also like Rose and Crown because we've had the good luck to time it with illuminations. Hoop de Doo, T Rex, Sci Fi were also hits (we like 50s prime time - not sure the boys "got it")

Since he was 4 one DS favorites is Chefs de France. And he really did well at breakfast so we did alot of 9:30 to 10 char Breakfasts. Cape May & Ohana have been his faves. He also like Whispring Canyon both dinner & breakfast.
