Favorite place to gas up along I-4 on the way in or out of the Fort?

Since our upcoming trip with be our first towing our Jeep behind our C, I'm a little freaky so I'm methodically choosing as many gas stops as I can using my Pilot-Flying J resources and Google maps. I'm needing a place with good access along I-4, any suggestions? We favor PFJ because we have their discount Good Sam gas card and I can find a lot of them with RV lanes, but there aren't any showing anywhere along the I-4 route from I-95. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, friends!

Our first trip, we never fueled on I4 but ended up fueling after unhooking. The last trip we came in via 528. I also prefer to use them, for the discount as well.

Ironically, I think we come in (or leave) a different way EVERY TIME! So I am no help. I do prefer the Flying J's too for the same reasons. I will say, however, that as you get closer to Orlando, pulling off an "Exit" to get gas with the RV is hit or miss (mostly Miss). I don't know who designed this "Municpalities" but they definitely did NOT do it with Campers in mind. Maybe that was the intent (to avoid boondocking) but, man..... it's tough to get around some of these shopping centers. I end up going through a couple of gallons of gas, just trying to find a gas station that I can get in to (and out of.)

To that end, I try to make sure I am filled up long before I am near I-4 and like Chris, I fill up again after unhooking. Of course you are in a Class C so the "Unhooking" doesn't have quite the impact as it does for me with my 37' TT or for Chris with his 13 slides, 100 foot Fifth wheel. :D

Count me in the group of Pilot/Flying J stoppers as we have a Diesel we get fuel at one of the 2 South of Jacksonville. We did find a local station on 192 East that was very reasonable

Usually we stop at Brunswick, GA at Flying J and have enough fuel to get back there we we leave. This new, RV, uses diesel to heat the house, so we fueled at the Disney Car Car Center. There was plenty of room for our 43' with the pickup attached and their prices were pretty good.

Does the Disney Car Care Center have easy access for Class A gas RVs towing (35 feet + Chevy Equinox)?

We make sure we have enough fuel that we don't have to stop on I-4. Mostly only stop at designated Flying J/Pilots with RV lanes. We also tow '4 down' so can't back up - don't even try to enter most other stations. Most are way too tight! If you can't wait for a truck stop, maybe it would be best to go fill up after unhooking tow, and before setting up at campsite??

We could easily get in a situation where we'd have to stop and unhook - that is 'not' fun!! Had to do it a couple times on National Parkways where they 'forgot' to put 'no RV turn around' signs!

Thanks guys! To be safe, then, I think we'll top off at the St. Augustine one, at least that's what I'll put in our trip plan. I just don't know what kind of MPG hit we will take with towing...but by the time we get down there we should have a good feel for it! (Plus, with our Filmore cups, none of us ever complains about an extra stop at a PFJ, LOL!) I didn't calculate our MPG last weekend, which I should have. One thing at a time, though, we were just happy that the whole setup worked! The Jeep isn't too big a deal to unhook, so that's always an option. Much easier to hook and unhook than our TT was, plus you can drive it out of the way! Pretty novel for us, LOL!

The one time we drove that route, there was a Speedway gas station about 1/2 way from95 and Orlando. It was about 1 mile to the left going to Orlando and was easy to get in/out of w/ our 28 camper.

I'm plotting our trip in our 35' Class A towing @ 8 mpg for gas stops on our route. Have fun on your trip!
