We are 30 days out!

I am working my way through the menus, trying to narrow down potential food & snack options. We were there in 2018, and tried a bunch of things. Some good. Some interesting, lol. It was only after we got home I realized we never even made it into the Sweetheart Cafe, so I am trying to avoid missing things we might have wanted to check out, with a little more research. And at that time, only one place had the LGM mochi dumplings, and it was closed. I'm so happy to see they are available a lot more places. This is a bucket list trip for my Dad (Tokyo Disney at Halloween) so we have 6 days to try lots of things. We have a 3-day Fantasy Springs package, with the included drinks so if anyone has recommendations for those too, I'd love to hear them. And of course the popcorn. My favorite in 2018 was surprisingly the Curry flavor.

Thanks!

I don't really understand why so many people like the popcorn. It's such a gamble with what flavors are actually good and whether or not it'll be stale. If I'm being honest, the lineup of snacks right now isn't super interesting to me. Maybe I'd get a Halloween churro or the pumpkin crepe but if I'm not hungry, I'll probably skip them. I sometimes get the mickey nuggets at Tomorrowland Terrace as a nighttime snack.

For the days without a vacation package, you may want to do buffeterias such as Cafe Portofino or Queen of Hearts since the drink ticket can't be used there. It may also be worth getting the Halloween set at Grandma Sara's.

With the vacation package drink ticket, it makes sense to visit counter service places with specialty drinks or places where you wouldn't want a set. For example, I have ordered just a sandwich without fries at New York Deli and used the drink ticket for the beverage. Hungry Bear would be my Disneyland non-set pick. For the restaurants that have the special Halloween drinks, I'd pick Miguel's and Zambini Brothers. I think the berry special drink at Gaston's is worth trying but I'm not a huge fan of the food there.

The Snuggly Duckling is my favorite sandwich/burger shop at Tokyo Disney and should not be missed.

very unlikely at TDR.

Also, and I am not a big popcorn eater, but the popcorn (carefully chosen) was highlight for me and my family in our previous visits.

Popcorn at TDR comes stale more often than not for me. For my friends that get vacation packages about 2-3 times a year, it seems to be more like 50-50. Perhaps we're just consistently unlucky but I've had popcorn many times at HKDL without experiencing this issue at all.

To be precise, the stale I'm talking about is not the flavor but the lack of crunchy texture. Some pieces get chewy to the point of being hard to eat.

Almost every one we got was stale/soggy/not crunchy. Only the honey popcorn was still crunchy.

We didn't have a vacation package, but sampled a lot of snacks and quick service over four days. Here were our favorites.

Snack - the creme brulee churro! I think this is available in a few places, but we got them in TDL at a cart in New Orleans Square.

Quick Service - we loved everything about Grandma Sarah's Kitchen, and the Donald Duck Birthday special set was delicious.

Quick Service - we tried all of the restaurants in Fantasy Springs and our favorite was Snuggly Duckling. We wanted to see the inside of the Frozen restaurant, but the menu didn't appeal to us, so we mobile ordered iced coffees.

Enjoy!
