Favorite park in the rain

About the only one I don't like in the rain is Epcot. That being because touring the WS is a lot of "outside time". Otherwise, given it doesn't rain everyday all day of my vacation I don't mind the parks in the rain.

Epcot perhaps - but the previous poster makes a good point that WS is mostly outside. It seems like every single time we visit Epcot, it rains. And we're always in World Showcase. However, most of the lines for FW attractions are inside so that makes it easy. You can escape to the Living Seas for an hour or so, Universe of Energy is a long inside attraction, The Land is a fun pavillion to spend some time in with the food area, the environmental film and the boat ride...and now Soarin! I think my vote is Epcot. Definitely not AK - we need good weather to be walking around AK.

Hi! Just got back and had rain our last two days...we loved Epcot in the rain, but we did Future World. We actually had excellent luck with MK one morning. It was raining and we were wet, but we were still hopping on and off of Splash and Big Thunder with no waits at 10:45. That was such fun for our DD's. We did have a line at Haunted mansion of like 25 minutes which I've never had even on super busy days...they only had one stretch room open. Mk was probably our favorite rainy day park because it was fun to be running around in the rain on empty streets for awhile. :flower:

I agree EPCOT!! You can spend hours indoors there. Innoventions is great for rainy days.

MK is not too bad as there are some indoor things to do. Same with MGM. AK is not good in the rain.

My vote would be for Epcot, especially with the world showcase. Once you get those poncho's on, you should be ready to go. I would take a nice light rain over the hot sun anyday while walking around.

One guestion that I have is if the animals at AK are more active when it's raining and if the safari stays open while it rains.

I also think Epcot is the best in the rain because all the pavilions in Future World are indoors. And you can easily spend plenty of time in each of the pavilions.

Epcot Future World is fine for a rainy day. WS is also ok for those quick afternoon showers, go into a store or if your lucky the Pub at the Rose and Crown and wait it out.

We will tour any park in the rain but it bothers us the least in Epcot-lots of indoor activities in FW. Often, it stops by the time we get back outside.

MGM was easy to do in the rain. Lots of the shows are covered or indoors. They also have all the shops pretty much connected. Nice just for the AC too on a hot day!

Yes, we drive in the rain and when it's raining is absolutely THE best time to ride the Safari!! Animals are most active....in fact, when it rains the elephants just have to get into the watering hole and splash around (I have no clue why they do this, but they do, and it's fun to watch, especially when the little ones are in there smacking the water around with their trunks :earboy2: )

AK is a great park for the rainy day....and most of the attractions and shows are indoors

Another vote for Epcot in the rain.

The water parks are awesome when it rains! It rained the one morning over Easter Weekend. We were at BB. Hardly anyone else was! We just kept everything dry in a locker and had fun.

If you don't have a stroller to keep dry, MK and MGM are great in the rain. Just grab a rain poncho and you're relatively line free.

The hardest thing at Disney when it rains is trying to keep a stroller dry. Most of stroller parking is outside. If you don't have stroller raingear, then an adult poncho fits over large strollers and a child's poncho fits over small umbrella strollers. Just secure the head hole with a knot.

Disney Quest and AMC Pleasure Island 24 are the worses places to go when it rains. Every guide book recommends these and they get swamped with people.
