Favorite, non-attraction thing to do in the parks

I always like walking through the shops on the right side of MS.
Hum along to the MS tunes.
I watch the flag ceremonies a lot.
Watch the white balloon fly away before fireworks.
Say goodbye to balloons floating away.
Visit the pins shops to see what's new.
Smell the popcorn scent as I pass by the carts.
Say hi to the ducks.
Get my handstamped every time I exit a park, even if it's more than once.

I probably do more things, but I can't think of what else I do.

Look for the Mad Hatter, Alice, and the gang at:

Open Ceremony / Band Sets
Musical Chairs
Charades
Magic Show

Okay, I knew about the musical chairs but where and when do you find them doing charades and the magic show?

We usaully stay on the move! The longest we ever sit still is when we are waiting in line, eating or watching a parade. On the rare occasion that I actually slow down, I love to grab a snack and find a good bench. Favorite spots are in front of the castle, in Critter Country, by Big Thunder and by the ROA. I love taking pictures of everything and enjoying all the little details.

People watch is definitely the top on my list. Just find a nice bench relatively close to the entrance and sit and watch everyone. It is amazing at how people of all ages are sooooo excited. Everyone walking down mainstreet gearing up for the rides and characters and yummy food, everyone is just so excited. It's also nice to see people when they come off a ride and how everyones reaction is so awesome.

This one time I went on Star Tours and my knowledge of Star Wars is so little and there was this little boy behind me and he knew the movie and the ride INSIDE OUT! He was narrating to his grandparents and he was totally going all out and I don't even think I was paying attention to the ride, it was just cute seeing how excited he was!

On a cool night...I like to get hot chocolate, sit and people watch.

I love to see the live musician performers. Some of my faves include the jazz band that performs by the Christmas store in Orleans Square. ALSO, I'm not sure if they still have him perform, but there was a man who used to play the piano at the Refreshment Corner. He was soo great. A wonderful performer and an amazing pianist!

OHHH and I love to see the artists in the Animation area in DCA and the artists on main street doing line drawings. I just love art period because I enjoy looking at the gallery as well ;)

Sherry, you know I'm in on this one too :) I almost had to stop myself from trying the cabbage by the Tomorrowland Train Station !!

I wanted to grab a lemon or two from that tree myself! I noticed the cabbage and the lemons, and my friend noticed one or two other plants. But we didn't get to ALL of them, so that will be another quest for me in October, along with hunting for fake gum and taking pictures of all the individual bathroom signs! Oh there is so much to do!

I almost raided the FRESH strawberries right near the entrance of Tomorrowland. Guilty Guilty Guilty!!:rotfl:

Ooooohhhh.....I didn't see the berries! Now that WILL be tempting. I might actually have to avoid that situation. I LOVE strawberries! Last thing I need is to be hauled off by Disney security for eating strawberries!

My DD plays the drums and loves to watch the guys who play the trash cans in Tomorrowland. Don't know if they still do it, but in DC there was a show with three singers and they did drawing of Mickey, a princess and I think Woody. They would pick three kids to go up and answer a question and at the end give them the drawing. My girls loved that.

The talking trashcan is really cool. I last saw him at DCA by the Golden Dreams theatre; however, I finally saw how the trash can worked (and so did everyone else by the end of the little show)

If you know what you're looking for, it's pretty obvious. I pointed him out to DBF and he was sad that I "ruined the magic" .

For me I love to people watch and watch the characters interact with other guests. I could spend so much time just sitting on a bench near the hub and take in the scenery.

I also love to eat anything and everything in the park. :yay:

They don't appear to have a fixed schedule, and they don't seem to do these two performances daily, but they generally hang around Fantasyland. There are videos on youtube. (I could provide links, but - especially with the magic show - might detract from the first viewing experience)

They sometimes ride the Teacups - either as a group or with guests in several cups. An even rarer treat would be to ride with them on the Storybook Canal Boats.

When it is chilly, I love to sit next to the fireplace in the lobby of the Grand Californian.

I always dance to the band in New Orleans Square and frequently catch beads.

We have caught a charades game somewhere between 1 and 2pm on a Monday in Fantasyland, somewhere around the Teacups, and Alice invited us to join a game of Musical Chairs on Main Street at 3pm. The charades game is one of our favorite memories from our trip.
