The first day in WDW we are hitting MK (of course) and FIL and MIL are joining us. I want to choose a restaurant that will show them that DIsney Dining is a fabulous treat! Not just over priced theme park junk! Suggestions please?!?!?!

Can you go somewhere near MK or do you just want to go in MK?

I don't "love" any of the restaurants in MK. I'm afraid they'd see the whole "expensive park dining" side there. Some of the resorts restaurants neighboring MK might be better to impress them.

Tony's Town Square has steak that was just as good as Coral Reef (imo) and the Italian dishes are good too! Plus if you have a late lunch you can see the parade go by. That's my choice for best food at MK...

We love Crystal Palace buffet ... the peel and eat shrimp, prime rib ....mmmm:cool1:

We always go with a big group and this is the one meal everyone always enjoys.

In Magic Kingdom, we love Crystal Palace because the food is nice and everyone should be able to find something they will like. The character interaction is always nice as well. :thumbsup2

If you are wanting something nicer but still in the area why don't you try 'Ohanas at the Polynesian or 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridan?

For CS it would be the chicken blt salad from CHH or TS would be the shrimp scampi from Tonys

Well, this might not be something you are interested in but on our MK day we always head over to California Grill. We think this is one of the best restaurants on property. It is expensive but also a culinary treat beyond compare.
We like the Plaza at MK for lunch though. Nice fresh sandwiches and salads and great desserts.

If you really want to wow them, try one of the restaurants at Grand Floridian. Just pick one based on your budget, they're all great for what they are!

i'd go with Crystal Palace if they don't mind the buffet setting. next up would be Liberty Tree Tavern for good traditional American fare.

Your best bet would be to get on the monorail and go to one of the monorail resort restaurants...
However, if you MUST eat in the MK, Tony's is probably your best bet.

In my opinion, inside MK would be Liberty Tree Tavern. Especially if they are into the colonial theme.

But, like PP, any one of the places in the resorts outside MK would be great.

Completely agree! I think the dining in MK is all a bit overpriced and may not present what you're after. Hop the monorail and try one of the others.;)

Our favorite ts in mk is the plaza, and actually it's our favorite ts in all of disney (that we've tried.)

We loved Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner (first time we ate there was our last trip) and The Plaza has always been one of our faves as well.

The Plaza is my favourite, I have tried every other TS except Tony's. Plaza is great food and great prices.

The Plaza is glorified counter service - sandwiches and the such, not a true sit down meal menu or setting.

Liberty Tree is our favorite for a sit down meal in the MK, but only for lunch when you can order from the menu - dinner is served family style (still good, we just prefer to order from their menu).

Tony's gets mixed reviews.

I would recommend taking the boat or monorail over to the Grand Floridian and going to the Grand Floridian Cafe - not as expensive as the higher end resort restaurants there, but a very nice setting, good food, and generally not as crowded because it seems a lot of people don't even know it exists.
