What is your favorite location at the Wilderness Lodge villas for a studio and why??? I know its not a resort that has a ton of "good views".... Just wondering... Thanks!

Close to the lobby or elevators -- those hallways can seem really long!

Right next to the Laundry room - first floor. It was quiet, DS loved the bunnies at our door and it came in handy for the kids running to/from the pool. What I didn't care for were the lizards that seemed to stalk the door waiting for us to open it so they could run in.

We are planning to stay at the WLV and would like to know the room number(s) that is close to the lobby. I have an elderly mother who does not walk well and would like to get her as close to the entrance as possible.
Thank you for the info,

1501 on the first floor. It is steps away from the path to the bus and boat. It is a dedicated studio and on the first floor not far from the laundry. We stayed in this room in 2007 for two weeks when I was 8 months pregnant and they were having record temps in October. I think the front desk took one look at me and thought I was crazy and gave us a convenient room! It was nice at the end of the day not to have to walk very far after we got off a bus or bus.

A suggestion, never request a room number. The room assigners don't know why you requested a certain room and you will probably never get it anyway.

It is much better to make a general request, ie: close to front door, close to elevator, lower floor with pool view.

Not sure about this. Granted we go at off-peak times, but I usually hand the CM a list with 5 room numbers on it and we've always gotten one of them for our stay. I don't think they care why you are requesting a certain room (I have found most of them either think you've stayed there before or done your research on where you want to stay). While making general requests is great, and may serve you well, I would definitely not rule out asking for specific rooms to the extent you know which ones you would prefer.

Thank you CNPHILLY! I am having trouble finding a map of the room numbers for the Villa's. I have found one for the Lodge itself, but not sure where the specific room numbers are for the Villas. Would you happen to know where I can find this info?
Thank You in advance,

The room assigners assign your room anywhere from the night before to several days before your arrival. The Front Desk CM's are not the room assigners. The reason that Disney went with on-line check in is to reduce the number of Guests requesting a room assignment change at check in. I expect that changes will be harder to make as time goes on.

At BLT recently we were told that changes weren't allowed, and at Kidani they tried to charge us $75 because we opened the door to the room and then requested a different room.

My opinion is still the same, providing the room assigners 5 room numbers gives you 5 chances to get the room you want. Requesting a area like close to elevators could increase your chance to 100.

I'd like to add a recommendation that you think through the walking issue in terms of more than just room location. A trip to WDW involves LOTS of walking and regardless of where your room is situated the walk from the bus INTO the parks can be more than some people do in a normal day.

If your mother doesn't walk well, consider whether a wheelchair or ECV would make everyone's (including hers) vacation happier. There's information in the disABILITIES forum about off-site rentals.

think it depends if you get there early enough before your room is assigned.

then you get a choice. won't do online checkin because you can't request. if the room assigner doesn't look at your reservation request - and just does by the room - you can be given the worst one.

you can also look at their map - to make sure the room is in a location you can live with before you go to it.

Two years ago we stayed in the perfect 2 Bedroom villa --it was facing the lake and we could see the most beautiful sunrise through the tress every morning--can anyone tell me what room number sequence this might be? And how I request it.

Thanks
