It has been my mission the past few years to visit lobster shacks in Me and NH. While I love lobster ...that is a given I really go for the ambiance. My VERY favorite is Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth ME. The view is stunning. A close second is Harriskeet Lunch and Lobster in Freeport ME. It is another great view and the food is really great. Third is Chauncy Creek in So Kittery Me. Bring your own accompaniments as well as table linens, salads candles etc and set up for a party. Finally Cape Porpoise Lobster another spectacular view with fishing boats returning to drop off the fresh catch every week day.

I have been to Evelyn's near Newport RI it was okay and the very Famous Flo's in Newport was just YUCK (it really more a of clam shack than a lobster shack).
If you have any good ones you know about I would love to know..photos would be great too!

You, um, don't think you missed a state in there somewhere? Sure, you can get to Rhode Island and Connectict from Maine/New Hampshire without going through Massachusetts, but it'd be an awfully roundabout trip - across NH, then Vermont, on local roads, then through upstate New York and around and down to CT. Plus, we've got just plain more coastline than New Hampshire.

Jasper White's Summer Shack - Boston and Cambridge.

I LIVE in Massachusetts! I don't count them. I am sure there are some down the Cape that I have not been to but I have as yet not found a good one in MA. As for JWSS....not the real thing.

What do you consider the 'real thing'??
