Favorite & Least Favorite parts of DVC

Favorite: All the previous and still to come vacations that I would never have been able to take without DVC. :yay:
Least: The time of year when the annual dues come due.

Favorite: Having the extra space and more then a standard hotel room including a kitchen at a beautiful resort.

Least Favorite: Having to be so calculated when planning vacations to get the accommodations that you want. Not venturing out too much to other non-Disney vacations. Tend to limit ourselves because of the investment and dues paid and travelling during busy timeframes whereby exchanges would be difficult or possibly impossible. Price of food on property also is getting rediculous and difficult to justify anymore.

Pro - Being able to get a large room with kitchen, extra bathroom and all that space for our now adult size family of 4 that we would have never paid out of pocket for. DVC makes that possible.

Con - The rules that needed to be remembered for banking, borrowing, canceling etc. We just joined this past year so we are still new, but I have so many things written down so I don't mess anything up but it just seems like there is a lot to keep straight.

However the next 50 years of Disney with my family is the most amazing thing ever :goodvibes

favorite: BW view :cloud9: and being able to take a vaca for only the cost of airfare (especially vital during some of the difficult downturns we've been through - like many)

least favorite: running out of points (i thought 400 points would be enough for 2 people.....:confused3 - it just makes me book more trips, and puts us in a constant state of borrowing), and of course, that terrible day when we go home. dvc helps there as we know we will be back; it's just that bittersweet sorrow brings tears to my eyes each and every time )

Favorite: Having three to four trips lined up.
Con: Getting slightly stressed when my booking time arrives hoping there is availability for the resort/room size we want.

Favorite: That comfortable and exciting feeling staying at a DVC resort
Least Favorite: Hearing the negatives of DVC

Favorite: Being able to stay at our favorite resort, VWL. Would not be able to afford cash rooms for us and the DIL's.

Con: Being stuck at SSR for a last minute trip, would rather stay at Pop.

Favorite- being able to stay at deluxe resorts we wouldn't normally fork out the change for.

Least- Still not the cheapest vacation considering cost of passes, food and travel.

As a first timer testing out a DVC, (rented points and assure you we didn't trash the place, haha). I must say THE ROOM, THE ROOM, THE GLORIOUS EXTRA ROOM!!! Including the WASHER AND DRYER!! WHEEE!!! I've never been so happy to do laundry, LOL. With all the airlines' extra fees and restrictions, it made it easier to pack "light". Coming back w/all the extra souvenirs, a different story, haha. And w/the nightmare that was our travel back thanks to Delta/Atlanta's freak storm, at least I didn't come home to a mountain of laundry.

2 things I thought I'd miss were mousekeeping and being removed from the main hotel. I was wrong. With all the extra room, we were able to stay tidy and not feel on top of one another. Plus not having to worry about the intrusion. And while I can't speak for other resorts, at VWL, the villas were so quiet, you almost wondered if anyone else was there. Considering the Christmas crowds, it was a very nice change. But still cozy w/the tree and fireplaces.

However, free dining would have been nice. I went ahead and purchased a dining plan because I wasn't sure how comfortable I was going to be w/ordering groceries and such. I will say that will probably be the last time I purchase the dining plan. You guys are right, it is ruining things. They have inflated the prices beyond belief and even paying the gratuity became quite steep. From now on, I'll either get it for free w/a regular room or get a villa and use the kitchen. The dining plan is only a "deal" if it's "free" IMO.

Favorite - The knowledge I have gained about going to Disney - all aspects from how to see parks, when to go, etc etc.

Least Favorite - I want to spend more and more time at WDW and don't have enough time off work!

Ahem, is that your favorite thing from DVC? Didn't you really get all that knowledge from all the wonderful people here on the DIS?;)

Yes but I found these forums becasue of DVC (researching) and without DVC wouldn't have taken the many many many trips to Disney and as the info is awesome it is the EXPERIENCE that really counts.

Honestly without DVC we wouldn't have gone to Disney but maybe every other year or less. DVC really opened my eyes and got my feet wet in timesharing.

Funny how a trip to Disney that my Mom insisted on the bringing our family to after my Dad passed. I said no kids too young etc, she insisted we go and it all snowballed from there:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Favorite: staying @ SSR! Definitely better than staying @ Pop :goodvibes. Can't wait for our first stay at the Treehouses in June

2nd favorite: having my daughter take her 3rd visit before she turns 3. And knowing my son's 1st visit at 1&1/2 will be one of many

Least favorite: taking two years between WDW trips the last two cycles!

Favourite - being able to go on vacation and cook in a beautiful, spacious villa while everyone else complains about how much they spend on eating out!

Least Favourite - paying dues right after Christmas, especially when we just got back from Christmas at OKW!!!
