Favorite II destinations

My DH and I had planned to take our kids to Atlantis in 2009, but now I am having second thoughts. It sounds very expensive (even on pts) and apparently is over rated.

So, what are YOUR favorite II destinations? We have three kids, they will be (in 09) DS 10, DD 10, DS 9. They aren't afraid of much and we love to rock climb, camp, etc., but I also like to be pampered somewhat when I use pts. (ie: prefer not to have to eat dirt in my noodles or drink smokey water ) We live in MN, so we camp a lot, looking for something a bit different for up to 400 pts. Thought about some sort of dude ranch, but Adventures seems a bit pricey.

So give it to me... What are your faves?

DH is rather outdoorsy and has thought about the Intrawest location in Collingwood,ON(Blue Mountain) It's a ski area, but has stuff to do in the summer(according to my Canuck friends).

Also have friends who have raved about the Quebec location, they had been on a business meeting there in the Fall. Their wives liked it too.

Haven't done the points/dollar anaylsis yet, DH has to get his fill of SSR,HHI and VB.


We've always loved Northern MI, never been to Boyne though, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes is our stomping ground. We've done LeBear and the Homestead they're not in II, but if Boyne is as nice as either of those two, 270 pts for a 2br a week would be a bargain.

You know, that brings up a good point. We've never been to VB or HH. We've thought about it, planned it, and then wind up at WDW. We have so many friends and family that are our kids' ages and we're giving many of them a turn with us hosting. Maybe I should try VB or HH? I hate crowds though, and those both seem like very seasonal places. I have no problem whatsoever taking the kids out of school, but I sure don't want to go somewhere and be cold!

It really depends on what you want to do. For me I'd say Most Marriott's, Westin's and Hyatt's, Royals in Cancun, Paradise Village Puerto Vallarta, Reef Resort Cayman's.
