Hi - we're tenatively looking at staying at the Convention Center Marriott. My DH has a class to attend there from April 25 - 27th. During that time myself and DD7 will head into DL. We're open to other hotel suggestions, with a few requirements

1. It's within walking distance of both DL and the Convention Center
2. Falls in the same price range of $179 a night
3. Is clean  , and offers some sort of breakfast

If any one has a favorite place to stay - we'd appreciate any input! Thanks!

The only other one that I know of that offers breakfast is the Residence Inn which is a block or 2 over from the convention center. It is on Clementine

We stayed at the Res. Inn in November. It's not on the same scale in beauty and style as the Marriott Convention Center, but we thought we had a great deal staying there and we have no complaints. We chose it for a family suite and the free breakfast. It was clean, service was excellent, and we loved the convenience of an ART stop right there and restaurants nearby.

Be warned though--although on a map all these hotels/convention center/Disneyland look really close, it's quite a bit of a walk from place to place. Yes, the Convention Center Marriott is really close to the Convention Center, but it's a real hike to get from it to Disneyland and many of the restaurants. The Residence Inn is a little closer to some of the chain restaurants, but again, you're really hiking to get to the convention center and Disneyland. We're huge fans of the ART to get to these diff. locations because with all the walking you do at Disneyland, it gets hard to hike the family around on city sidewalks all the time as well.

The Double Tree looks nice. Has anyone liked the Residence Inn?

We stayed there last year and we are again in April. We stay there mostly because my DH likes not having to pay for breakfast and we can use our Marriott rewards to stay for free. They have decent sized rooms. But nothing Upscale. My kids are 2 and 5 so Mom and Dad have the honor of pushing them to the park and back. ART does pick up in front. I think ART runs every 15-20 mins.

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn in January. DH walked to the convention center each morning and I hopped the bus to DL, but it would have been just as quick to walk to the parks. We paid $99 per night for a deluxe room which includes a decent continintal breakfast.

We went ahead and made ress. for the Marriott next to the Con. Center (DH class is in the hotel). And some feedback said the beds are comfortable. Cross our fingers ;)
