Off these three choices which is your favorite time to go for Holiday viewing? I am trying plan an extended family trip and no one can agree on which week to go, so I was hoping for some input from fellow DISers.

The week after Thanksgiving.

The first week in December

The Second Week in December

Any reasons for your choice.

Thanks for replies.

Can I add a new choice - the week before Thanksgiving. The decorations are up and the weather is great. The crowds are also very light.:goodvibesWant to try out early December, but that will have to wait until it is just DH and myself.

Either the first or second week of December. While SOME decorations are up before Thanksgiving, many are not, and things like Candlelight processional and Osborne lights, Holidays around the "world" etc, that are the real charms of the season wont be running.

I like the first week of December for the filming of the holiday parade, but that is also Pop Warner Football time at WDW. My favorite is to go from midweek the first week through midweek the second week. That's what we are doing this year. We'll arrive one the 6th and stay through the 13 or 14. I'm likely going to add the 14th at the 7 month window.

I picked Week after Thanksgiving because my DD has Fri off and 2 half days the following week. So she misses less school.
My favorite time in the world.

That is when i will be there as well.

We just booked today for Dec. 7-11. Is that Pop Warner time and how does it affect the crowd levels?? We just went in Dec. 2010 during the third week and it was not too bad, but we wanted to save on points and do the 7-11 this year.

Thanks,
Susan

Why is Christmas week not a choice? Its the only time we can go because we have school age children. Yes its busy and cost lots of points but it is also very magical.

Because that is not a week I would ever consider going.

I am trying to plan an extended family trip and wanted to know which is more popular of the three times that we are considering and why.

Thanks though. :thumbsup2

Pop Warner usually begins the first Saturday and runs through the week. However their contract was up with Disney this past Dec. and there is no word yet on whether they will renew it.

As to how it affects everything, is a loaded question. Many say they did not notice them, and others avoid that time like the plaque. You can read more about Pop Warner experiences on the Theme park and Resorts forums.

I do think most of the negative experiences have come from guests staying at the same hotels with them, so that will not affect you as they don't stay at DVC resorts in mass.
