I'd love to hear everyone's opinions on the newer lounges and restaurants throughout the resort, including DTD and the hotels, as well as any restaurants that have changed their menus, or shops that have had significant refurbishments. Like since May 2024. Favorites and not-so-favorites appreciated.

To my knowledge, these would include:

* Paseo
* Centrico
* Tiendita
* Seoul Sister
* Sip & Sonder (evidently closing)
* GG’s Chicken Shop
* Vista Parkside Market (lounge)
* Din Tai Fung
* Broken Spell Lounge
* Tiana's Palace (opened in 2023 but I think it was closed in the summer of 2024)
* Pooh's Corner - still the same items?
* Hungry Bear
* Other shops in Critter Country/Bayou Country that have been rethemed?

If you know of any others, please add them!

I haven't been to any of those and not really interested in most of them. I did look in at Broken Spell Lounge, which was closed at the time, but it looked like a cool place to stop in if you're nearby or staying at DLH. Otherwise, it's quite small and I'd probably not go unless I was in the area anyway (and I'm going to be at GCH in a few weeks so I may try it out but definitely prefer Trader Sam's ).

I'm old and a very picky eater so take what I have to say with a grain of salt.

edited to add: I'm going soon with my sister, who is a foodie and loves every kind of cuisine, so I may be going to some of those places...I can always find something I like (usually dessert, LOL).

We've been to Centrico three times and have enjoyed the atmosphere. DH has tried a couple of fun mocktails. The best things I ate were the fish tacos and the chips and salsa. Other dishes I have tried weren't bad but also didn't particularly impress me. I get a lot of good Mexican food at other places, and not all the flavors here suit my tastes. For example, I didn't like their refried beans, and that's not usually an item I can find a lot of fault with.

Tiendita has good pricing for downtown Disney. The food has been okay for the price. There is no dedicated seating for Tiendita, so you are taking your food to go even if only to a bench somewhere in downtown Disney. Since they are related, flavor profile similar to Centrico.

I have tried one rice bowl at Seoul Sister. It was the least imaginative of the choices on offer. The flavors were decent and it was a solid choice at a time when I didn't have a particular taste for anything but was looking for something filling and simple.

There is a lot out there about Din Tai Fung. To me this place I feel is in large part about its popularity, so I know that's one reason I had to go, to find out for myself what everyone was talking about. I admit everything we have eaten there has been enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the pork and shrimp long bao and the green beans. We have only been twice because it feels so pricey and we debate whether that expense is really reflected by equally upgraded quality comparable to places we enjoy closer to home. The inside of the restaurant is also SO LOUD which detracts from the experience for me.

Tiana's Palace is not closed. I have tried a number of things there. I like the baked macaroni and cheese. I loved the shrimp and grits when they had them, but that menu item has disappeared. DH and I enjoy both the house gumbo and the 7 greens gumbo. The cornbread is hit or miss; it's the sweet kind if you like that style.

Pooh's Corner is pretty much same as always...all the fresh baked stuff plus bagged candy and Pooh merch. The shop next to it is mostly Tiana stuff with pins and keychains too. I love Pooh Corner and usually find something unique there.

The other shop that was Pooh is now Ray's Berets, kept some of the clever inside theming but switched to focus on Tiana but it's worth a walk through to look at theming.

Avoid the pretzel cart by entrance to Pooh ride...VERY STALE.

Haven't had BBQ at Hungry Bear...can't eat that but it's still an average burger. I don't care for the battered fries but they have always been hot and fresh when I get.

* Paseo - We love this place. It is $$$ for dinner so we try to go for brunch.
* Centrico - Haven't tried it. We don't drink and it feels like more of a bar/lounge vibe.
* Tiendita - We've tried their breakfast burritos and liked them. As was mentioned, there is no seating. Everyone working there is very nice
* Seoul Sister - Haven't tried
* Sip & Sonder (evidently closing) - Not closing. It is closed.
* GG’s Chicken Shop - Haven't tried
* Vista Parkside Market (lounge)- Haven't tried
* Din Tai Fung - We've have one close to home and have been many times. It is good but overpriced. I haven't been to the DTD restaurant
* Broken Spell Lounge - Haven't tried
* Tiana's Palace (opened in 2023 but I think it was closed in the summer of 2024) - It hasn't closed since it first opened. We've enjoyed just about everything we've had here. Don't mobile order.
* Pooh's Corner - Not a restaurant. Counter service baked items
* Hungry Bear Jamboree BBQ - I've eaten there a handful of times. I like the brisket. My spouse likes the pulled pork. Nothing spectacular but nice to have new items.

There are a lot of photos in the dining review thread.
