Favorite feature of offsite Airbnb?

We are looking at 10 nights in the fall and want a private rental. We stayed in a condo at Windsor Hills for a Sea World trip and enjoyed it a bunch, but Disney will be different! We are not all day park people, so amenities and relative closeness are important. But if you have rented offsite, what was one of your favorites for an Airbnb rental...was it resort amenities, rental unit amenities, private pool and/or hot tub, great theming, games room, proximity to parks, etc? Was there a feature you thought would matter to you and didn't end up being that important? Our price range is under 200 a night all in so we can't have it all!

Having laundry and an easy parking situation is a must. Having a big fridge is also great, but pretty much all Airbnbs have that.

For us it's a private pool. Our last rental had a game room which was also a great feature. Going forward I would probably book a house with a private pool and game room as long as it was within budget over a house with just a private pool.

Our go-to for long-term off site is Windsor Hills in a specific home we have rented several times over the years. We usually do a 2 week trip every summer. We also love Bonnet Creek, but more for a short-term stay.

As a family of 6, the private pool and 4 bedrooms is the selling point for us

When we spend 2 weeks, we all need a little space to save our sanity! The house we regularly book has some theming, but not over the top. When the kids were younger the theming appealed to us, but as they have gotten older it is not as important. We also found without all the hub-bub of eating out, "packing" for the pool, and racing out to the parks, a home where we all have our own bedrooms for "down time" really allows us to relax. We have a 16 yo on the spectrum who needs quiet time in his room, a 15 yo who often just wants privacy from her sisters, and a 9 and 7 year old who think they need to "go go go" all the time but really need some downtime during the week just chilling in their room watching some tv to avoid the "Disney meltdown". And when we are all not on a "go go go" type of schedule, we all are much more pleasant to be around.

But I will also add that our first few years of going to Disney, we didn't know HOW to slow down and relax. We were a rope drop, collect as many FPs as possible (days of the paper fps!), nap at the house, and rush back to the parks. WH was a great location due to how close we were to Disney parks. I wouldn't trade those days for anything (so many memories!) but they were exhausting!

So I don't know if I answered your question. But for 10 days, you really need to ask yourself what your family needs to keep everybody balanced. For my family it is space ...and some down time to just chill. For my husband and I that means drinks poolside and listening to music while we float, for my 16 year old that means noise cancelling headphones and his youtube videos in his room, for my 15 yo that means space away from her younger sisters, and for my 7 and 9 year old that means that, though they may not like it, they will have some time to nap, watch tv, play in the pool, play in the game room, or just ride the bikes down the streets at Windsor Hills.

Best of luck!

Proximity to parks, resort amenities and our own private pool are the most important to us. Can't say enough especially about the private pool - so convenient at the end of the day to walk right out your kitchen door for a soak. To get that on property, you'd spend 10x the price to get a cabin or bungalow, lol.

Windsor Hills is our fav place for all 3 of these.

We love having a private pool, laundry, full kitchen etc. We are going in May and staying in Davenport again. We LOVE Florida Spirit. They do a special deep clean for Covid. Most of the homes are in safe gated communities and sparkling clean. Rates are usually less than other home rental sites. Right now they have a special 100off code that takes it off the total.

We were like that when the kids were younger too. We came home exhausted and spent thousands on site. Now we get groceries at Publix and have fave restaurants like First Watch and the Columbia that we go to every time. We actually relax some.

In house laundry, private pool/hot tub, parking in front of home and game room in garage.... best of all more amenities for your $$$$$

Since rentals are unique, they are memorable. Vacations are all about making memories that last a lifetime. I remember the unique places I stay in more than the places that I stay in multiple times. Sometimes things are‘t as nice as I would like them to be, like the times the pool heat I paid for was restricted to just a few hours a day, broken pool cues, no basic supplies, etc. but I remember every one of the 30+ airbnb rentals I have been to In detail.

Choose a unique place with lots of good reviews. Read every review so you have a good idea what you are getting into and don’t let Imperfections spoil the trip.
