i am finally getting back to DL and I am so excited! It has been 10 years! What are your favorite eats at DL or DCA?

Thanks!

My must haves are:

churros
mickey waffles from carnation cafe
chicken and ribs and corn bread from Big Thunder Ranch bbq
jambalaya from french market

At Disneyland:

Chicken dinner at Plaza Inn (can be shared or devoured by one if hungry)
Cobb salad w/extra lettuce at the Plaza Inn (a new favorite of my hubby and I)
Tostada Salad with half chicken/half beef at Rancho Del Zocolo
Barbeque Chicken Baked potato At Harbor Galley (baked potato topped with bbq chicken & coleslaw.. a filling snack or light meal and under 7 bucks!)
Shrimp Cobb Salad at Harbor Galley
Parmesan Pommes Frites At Cafe Orleans
Baked Potato Soup at Carnation Cafe (amazing recipe from a chef who has worked at the parks for over 55 years!)
Sourdough Bacon Cheese Melt at Carnation Cafe
Corn dog from the Little Red Cart On Main St

At DCA:

Lobster Nachos at Cove Bar (beloved of my entire family, myself, hubby and 8 year old alike, although she likes the hot stuff off them)
1/3 pound cheeseburger at White Water Snacks (technically not in DCA but a tiny walk through the Grands DCA entrance and back) Decent and a nice quick respite from the park without being crowded.
Mickey waffles, Breakfast Burrito, and Breakfast Bagel Sandwich also at White Water Snacks. (Breakfast usually served one hour prior to the parks opening and a bit less then eating in the parks)
Corn Dog, Cheese stick at Corn Dog Castle

The Asian Salad in the sourdough breadbowl on the wharf area of DCA. Must eat every trip! :cool1:
Corn dogs at either park, Matterhorn cookies from the Jolly Holiday bakery in DL, Monte Cristos (we like the 3-cheese best) and pomme frites at Cafe Orleans, beignets.

The Mediterranean chicken skewer meal at the Paradise Garden Grill in DCA -- done Greek style with tzatziki sauce. Comes with rice, cucumber salad and really good pita bread.

Bengal BBQ chieftain chicken skewers and bacon wrapped asparagus skewers.

Plaza Inn fried chicken dinner and corn dogs are on our list as well.

We love anything and everything from Care Orleans- especially the pomme frites! Dole whips of course.

We also love the beignets at Ralph Brennan's in downtown Disney. They are especially yummy with chicory coffee for breakfast. Oh and I'm a sucker for Mickey Mouse rice crispy treats dipped chocolate!

My husband and I also really like the beer and pretzel place in DCA. They have a really good jalapeño pretzel.

I vote for the cove bar lobster nachos as well. Best thing at Disneyland. Love the skewers at paradise garden grill too. Mickey waffles at carnation is the best breakfast in the parks. They are the big waffle not the little ones. Way better

Fried chicken at Plaza Inn

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ

Chilli Cone Queso/Bacon Mac & Cheese at Cozy Cone

Corn Dogs at Corn Dog Castle

Just to name a few........:thumbsup2

Corn Dogs at Corn Dog Castle...

Do you see a trend?...I'm not going to buck it.

My typical go-to is the corn dog. It's fast, relatively cheap, and cooked fresh (not a reheated frozen corn dog, but dipped and cooked to order). Compared to the rather generic burgers and pizza available,...it's haute cuisine. But you have to like corn dogs/hot dogs to bother. For years, trips to the park were day trips (we lived in L.A.) and the corn dog is the best quick lunch when on the go. I'll also add...it's an unofficial DL "exclusive," unless they've added corn dogs to WDW lately (reheated nuggets don't count).

When we wanted to sit and dine and get off our feet...we also went with the chicken at Plaza Inn.

Have to abstain on DCA recommendations, been a while since we've been back to So.Ca., but will be there this Oct. I will say, I always made time for a Red Trolley Ale or two at DCA, even though I could buy it at the grocery store when I lived in Ca...now that I'm back East, I can't wait to get back for it.

The Monte Cristo and Pommes Frites at Cafe Orleans are a must for our family. And churros and tigger tails for something sweet. Bengal BBQ for a quick snack (yummy skewers). In DCA, we love the soup in a bread bowl at Pacific Wharf.

my wife and I are partial to the fried green tomato sandwich and sweet potato fries at The Hungry Bear in DL. We also are huge fans of the BTR BBQ. Also Steakhouse 55 at DLH is very good.

edit: I will also recommend the corn dogs and Monte Cristo sandwiches as other posters have mentioned.
