I just payed my balance for the 7 day Dec 28th Magic..Yahaoo! We have two kids ages 7 and 10. Is the submarine at St. Maarten good? What about the catameran trip? We'll probably do Cinnamon bay on our own on St. John. Any advice is appreciated as I'd like to sign up early. Thanks, Bev

We signed up for the See n Sea on St Marten and will most likely do Coral World on St Thomas ourselves. DS10.5 was interested in both. Actually wanted the Atlantis sub that submerges on St Thomas but that would leave us w/out a St Thomas excursion and he wanted to go to Coral World also. St Thomas had too many we wanted, St Marten we werent sure.

We did the Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Maarten in the afternoon. It was a lot of fun. We did not take any of our kids but the kids that were on it seemed to have a good time - they were laughing and bouncing around alot! 7 and 10 would be good ages. One little boy was terrified the first time a wave came over the front but the guys working quickly helped him to the back and we didn't see any fear from him after that - he even rode up front on the way back. My advice would be to warn the kids they will get splashed if they sit up front by a lot of salty water! I think he was just surprised!

If you do this - don't wear a good bathing suit with white on it (won't tell you why but it was GREAT!!! ;) )

Only excursion my boys (10) did was Atlantis Sub in St. Thomas and it was definately one of the highlights of the week for them! The banana boat ride at CC was another BIG HIT for one (he loves roller coasters) and not so for the other (he doesn't like rides at all!).

We were on the Magic in January and took our own cab ride to Orient Beach and it was our favorite beach. It was sooo beautiful there. If you go to the family beach area there you don't see hardly any nudity. My kids were 4-12 (4 of them) and if they did see something they never said a word. We had hair braiding done there too. My kids were building a sand castle and this adorable very little dog came and laid in the middle of my son's castle. I wanted to bring that dog home soooo bad, it was so darling and I can still picture it today. The beach was just beautiful and there was a place to get drinks, small gift shop, changing room, etc. We all remember that day and it brings tears to our eyes thinking about how much fun we had.

Hope this helps!! Living in the Midwest we don't get a lot of opportunities to swim in the ocean so that is what my kids chose to do instead of excursions where everything is so planned.

Only 6 more weeks until we cruise on the Wonder (doing a 4 day and 3 day back to back due to discounts. We will miss the Magic though (better ports by far!!!):earseek: :earseek:

We did the See & Sea on St. Martin, and it was VERY fun:cool: ! It would be perfect for people with kids, plus you get to see the whole island along with the sub (kind of a pontoon boat with a glass bottom boat underneath).

Our favorite, though, was Trunk Bay on St. John. We took the air conditioned boat over and took a long open air drive to Trunk Bay. It was just breathtaking. DH snorkeled for the first time and LOVED it. I swam and enjoyed nature. There was a little gift shop and a snack shop. I didn't think it was horribly crowded -- we got around just fine. I wish we would have been able to see the shops on St. John, but we've already promised ourselves we're going back, no question:bounce: !

My advice is, DO NOT miss St. John. It was the most beautiful island we saw.:smooth:
