I just ordered a FREE droid phone (from Dell!) and verizon service plan....what apps are your favorites?

ridehopper for parks
Tip calc -tip calculator
flickster Movies
Where
Bar code scanner
Moment Flash
Frozen Bubble
but my absolute favorite, because I'm easily amused, is a app remake of the old "Speak and Spell" electronic game that came out in the late '70's

I love, love, LOVE my Droid!!! Here are some apps I like:

Advanced Task Killer -- kills the apps that are left running in the background, it's a MUST have.
Pandora -- acts like like the website, but hogs up the battery
Movies -- has NetFlix queue, local showtimes, upcoming movies, etc...
Ringdroid -- you can create ringtones from mp3s and other sounds you have on your phone
Uninstaller -- super easy to remove all those unwanted apps
WDW Lines -- you need to have a paid subscription, but it's WELL worth the $7.95 (and way better than Ride Hopper imo)
WeatherBug -- very detailed weather information
BatteryTime Lite -- tells you exactly how much battery power you have left
Jewels -- color matching game (great time killer)
Air Control -- direct planes onto runways (another great time killer)
DirecTV -- allows DirecTV customers to set their DVR at home from anywhere
Garage Sale Rover Free -- great, if you're into yard saling (shows you where nearby garage sales are based on your location)
Calorie Counter -- great if you're counting calories, lists calories for major restaurants and other food items

Thanks for the ideas! I could not find the apps on the Verizon website for Droid....but I did find them on an Android website. I guess I'll know more when I actually GET my phone! I can't wait!:cool1:

OMG I have to get the yard sale one, Thanks :woohoo:

But i like all that she said minus the yard sale one as I didn;t know about it. Plus

The period app. keeps track of them
the where is my droid - lets you call your phone and if it is on silent it makes it ring so you can here it.

I agree with the apps listed above. Lines is by far my favorite.

I also like:

Red Boxer - you can see what movies are in the Red Boxes closest to you and rent them from your phone. I've actually rented the last copy of something while standing in line.

Key Ring- scans the grocery store, drug store, movie store membership cards and stores the bar code. The store can scan them from your phone so you don't have to dig out your card.

Photobucket- every photo I take with my phone automatically downloads to my photobucket account.

Motarola Droid here...

I like Gesture Search and Books, in addition to some of the others. Oh, and Loot. ::yes::

LOVE the Droid. So much happier with this than the iPhone.

After waiting for Verizon to get the iphone and not wishing to wait for something that may or may not happen anymore we got the new Droid X yesterday. DD7 has type 1 diabetes and I can't tell you how many times we've gone to a restaurant and been told they have their nutrition on the website but not in the store.

I'm so glad I came on here to look for people's favorite apps. Where's my Droid is so awesome! Does anyone know of any good Disney game apps. My kids want to play with my phone but I don't want them searching for apps on their own (which they will do if I don't have something already there :rotfl:).

DD is playing Jewels right now. :thumbsup2

Google Sky, around me, advanced task killer, Opera browser, Sudoku, world tour (changes the wallpaper to photos from webcams around the world)

PoppyGirl, the phone will have an app called Market, that is where you download the apps from.
