Just curious to hear your response to what would your absolute favorite disney resort be and why? I haven't stayed on site the past 2 times we were there but would like to. I am just having a hard time picking one. I have little ones and would like to be in the action and close to magic kingdom.

My personal favorite is AKL. The whole resort is just beautiful. It's not as close to most of the parks as some of the resorts are but that is not really that big of a deal to us. We were in awe the 1st time we walked into AKL. :)

I would have to say so far our favorite resort is port orleans. the grounds are beautiful and the kids loved the pool!! we are staying at sog in july so i'll let everyone know how that was.

I have to say Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite!! There are so many reasons, but a few are the animals, of course, Boma, the wonderful smells, all the artwork, the colors, the whole resort is absolutely beautiful!! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

We have stayed at GF, WL, AKL, Poly, BWI, and DL. Our favorite is the WL.

BCV's are the best for us so far although I love so many of the Disney hotels. I haven't stayed in one I didn't like:)

WL is our favorite for most of the same reasons. We've never been in the hot tub.

Our all time favorite is the Boardwalk Inn. We love the Epcot area, the Boardwalk itself has some nightly entertainment, and there were so many places to eat around there. The pool has a great slide -- the keister koaster, shaped like an old wooden roller coaster. The rooms are large and very pretty. We just love it there!

Now, AKL was beautiful also. The lobby there is fantastic, and the smells from Boma wafting up and around were great. (could bother some people, but we liked it) What we didn't like about AKL was the pool. We didn't like how the walls of the pool must be painted with a brownish green color (to imitate a watering hole in Africa I guess). We prefer a traditional colored pool.

We have been to a few other resorts, and we like trying new ones, but the one thing we always say is "wish we were at the Boardwalk!" :genie:

POFQ until we tried AKL...

now that's the place for us.

Going back in August !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Moose is Loose

My favorite Resort at WDW is The Wilderness Lodge and Villas @ Wilderness Lodge, when you walk into the magnificent Lobby with the giant log beams and the Northwest decor your feel like your in a Cathedral, yet you also feel like you have just arrived home to a cozy cabin. The plump sofa, oversized chairs, and rockers next to the fireplace, make you feel welcomed. Next add the beautiful view out over Silver Creek with the waterfall and Fire Rock Geyser to Bay Lake. It is a sensual overload and one that I enjoy with each and every visit.

Waterfalls & Silver Creek @ WL.

The Beach Club Villas are my favourite. Great location, great atmosphere in the Beach Club yet so much room in the villas. And I love Stormalong Bay.

My favorite resorts (that I've stayed in) are in the following order:

1. Grand Floridian--too many reasons to list--it's incredible
2. Animal Kingdom Lodge--also incredible
3. Boardwalk Inn (location and beautiful decor in rooms and around hotel)
4. Wilderness Lodge (theming and pool area--rooms just okay--restaurants very good there)
5. Polynesian (location and access to Seven Seas Lagoon--no jacuzzi, a major disappointment for me, great service)
6. The Swan (heavenly beds, boat trans to Epcot/ MGM/Boardwalk)
7. The Yacht and Beach club (location, found service to be poor, liked rooms but not as pretty as Boardwalk, stormalong bay fun but very crowded, common amenities/ areas not as user friendly as some of the other deluxes)
8. Port Orleans Riverside (missed amenities of deluxe hotels but liked Ole Man island and relaxing atmosphere, thought walk was too long between room/ pool/ main building/ bus stop, missed turn down service and no concierge available--or robes!)
