Okay. I suffer from a sweet tooth. I am already looking into finding out what desserts are recommended at the resort where I am staying, but we will be having our anniversary lunch at Mythos and am wondering what is the best dessert. I noticed they have a warm gooey chocolate bannana cake? What is that?

Also, what is your favorite dessert at Mythos?

Thanks!

What it is, is DELICIOUS!!!! It's a small warm chocolate cake. When you cut into it with your fork, warm gooey chocolate oozes out. It's topped with home made peanut butter ice cream. It is also topped with a thinly sliced fried(?) banana that looks like a helicopter blade sitting on top of the cake. In each corner of the plate are a couple of slices of bananas topped with caramel sauce.
Oh my--now I've got myself all excited!:Pinkbounc
As if you couldn't tell by now, it's one of my favorite all time desserts ANYWHERE!

I have never been to Mythos, but intend to now. Like you I love dessert and would rather have the starters, skip the main meal and have a huge dessert! I Loooove banana desserts and the one you describe sounds sooooo yummy.
Recently after seeing "Calamity Jane" at the Shafetsbury Theatre in London, I revisited a "Pancake" house that I had not been to for a very long time. I had a huge pancake, topped with banana, cream, a cointreau liquor and a sprinkling of chocolate - Mmmmmm...it was out of this World!!!

;) See I'm back on again with a cup of tea (!! - another thread!!!)

Selina that banana pancake you described sounds soooo yummy! I love any banana dessert.

Favorite dessert at Mythos - Warm Chocolate Banana Gooey Cake. It is as good as it sounds! My husband gets the tasting of chocolate and loves it. Its too rich for me.

Does anyone ever go to Mytho's JUST for dessert? I have to have a piece of that cake!! and I am not sure that my family would enjoy the different/expensive food ....

JessicaR......the Mythos one sounds like it's best to skip dinner and just indulge!! I'll tell you somewhere else I had the most mouthwatering desserts..........Malta!! They make these wonderful cream gateaus filled with fruit, different mouth watering sponge fillings, apple pastries layered with caramel and cream, the best creamy bread and butter pudding I have ever tasted and Ohhhh the egg custard slices and chocolate gateaus topped with strawberries, layered with cream and soaked in liquours..........Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I had told my entire family about the warm, gooey, chocolate banana cake. When my brother in law visited IOA he went to Mythos JUST for that dessert. No one looked at him like he was crazy and he was VERY glad he took the time to stop in and enjoy it!

Selina, those desserts sound amazing! I guess I need to go to Malta they sound to die for! Thanks for making me want that now!

Hi JessicaR.....

It's a quiet place - but there is a place called "Popeye Village", where you can get to do some acting on the original set that starred Robin Williams as Popeye with a Popeye and Olive and then watch it all in a small cinema - and there are a few rides for the kiddies! The beaches are gorgeous and there is usually a lovely breeze when basking in the hot sun. We stayed at the Paradise Hotel and you could help yourself to as much as you like - there was a 4 course buffet - so if you wanted you could have 2 or 3 starters, skip the main meal then have 2 or 3 desserts!!!

Somewhere else I had an amazing pancake was at City Walk....not sure of the name unfortunately - inside there were lots of circular tables with brass poles in the centre up to the ceiling and high stools. I think it was italian.

Do you know it's 77oF in London today - clear blue sky - beautiful sunny day!
