Hi all,

Headed to WDW at the end of next month, and I'm just wondering where we should go for lunch (CS only-- we don't want to slow down for long, with DS 10 and DD 8) at the parks? For Epcot, we'll go to Sunshine Seasons-- went there on our Feb. 2007 trip, and it was fantastic. We like places with healthy options (mostly for me-- DH, DS, and DD could exist on fries if given the opportunity!!). We're staying off-property, so we can cook our own dinners....I'm too much of a control freak to give over all the cooking to restaurants for a week!! :)

Could you please recommend good CS lunches at HS, AK, and MK?

Thanks so much,
Jess

Here are some suggestions....

MK - Columbia Harbor House (good NE Clam Chowder). Pinocchio's is a close second.

DHS - The food is rather mundane at the counter services here. Nothing memorable although some of the theming is neat. Toy Story Pizza Planet is well themed.

AK - Flame Tree is good! Nice outdoor seating. We also like Yak and Yeti counter service for the food selection.

MK-Taco salad @Pecos or Pirata

AK-Honey chicken@YY, bbq @ Flame tree

DHS- Hot Italian Sandwich @ Catalina Eddies, Rib & Chicken combo @ Faifax Faire

MK- we enjoy Cosmic Rays, lots of good choices and fixin bar. Chicken and Rib combo is great, and their grilled chicken sammy is so moist and yummy.

Peco Bills is good as well. Their chicken wrap is real good.

DHS- Usually Toy Story Pizza Planet for kids, alot of food, side salad comes with, so we just get 2 orders from there.

Backlot is DH and I will get something if still hungry, their veggie sammy was good. Burgers and dogs basic.

Starring Rolls has sandwich choices, chips and their desserts are too die for.

AK- Pizzafari, again if kids want Pizza, they have a very good warm italian sammy.

Yak & Yeti, not bad, nothing standouts.

Restarauntasaurus- went for first time last year, it was really good, and had a fixin bar. I got the shrimp poboy.

Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour House -- excellent and healthy sandwiches, yummy clam chowder, great atmosphere

Disney's Hollywood Studios: Is none an appropriate response? This park has never figured out counter-service food. Just avoid ABC Commissary at all costs.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbeque -- Perhaps the best food of any counter service restaurant on property. The outdoor seating is a negative.

I know everyone hates on DHS for CS eating, but the Backlot Express has plenty of places to sit, shade, and free re-fills on fountain sodas! It never feels overcrowded because there is so much space. I've also had great CM experiences here.

MK-Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square (although they don't have burgers)

DHS - I can't think of all the names at the moment, but the Commissary has things other than burgers and fries (for you :)) but I do remember having decent meals at the BackLot Express.

AK - Never eaten at Flametree (although it looks good) and have had decent meals at Pizzafari. Unfortunately we don't go to AK all that often so don't eat many meals there.

MK: Cosmic Rays. Lots of choices. I just don't like the atmosphere though. I like the feel of Harbor House and Pecos Bills

AK: Blech. Nothing. The closest thing would be Yak & Yeti.

DHS: Fairfax Fare for sure. ALthough Starring Rolls has great sandwiches, there's usually only a couple of choices for them.

Mk-Columbia Harbor House(clam chowder), Pecos Bills(taco salad), El Pirata y el Perico, (everything) only open seasonal though but we all like the food here.

Pinocchio Village Haus(my kids like the atmosphere and food here the have a ceasar chichen salad and aMediterranean Salad that's good and the kids usually get the pizza here)

DHS- Starring rolls has wonderful sandwiches( they are large so you could share and the CUPCAKES are to die for!

AK we love and always eat at Yak and Yeti even if its just an eggroll they are sooo good, but we really like Pizzafari (Hot Italian-Style Sandwich served with Carrot Sticks or Chips $8.59) also Fame Tree Barbeque (chicken, ribs, barbque sanwiches and salads)
