As I am the world's biggest researcher (I have a paralegal degree, it's in the DNA), I enjoy reading all about people's experiences with everything from port adventures to food. This time, I want to focus on food. Tell me what your favorite thing to eat is that you have created from a combination of things available onboard the ship....from Cabanas, the quick service spots, room service or even the MDRs and Palo/Remy. If you have a combination that you have created that you love when you cruise...I want to hear about it! Make my Disney Day!

Tried to make a dole whip float once. We carried on pineapple juice, because it's my favorite and I like not having to go to the bar to get it. One day they had the pineapple soft serve, so I put some in a cup and poured the juice over. Not a dole whip float, not even close. :(

Yeah....I think the pineapple ice cream they have on the cruise is missing the necessary tartness to be a good Dole Whip, but I sure as heck would have tried, just like you! LOL

Coke (or other soda float). I use a bit of coke and then add some vanilla ice cream...wish they had root beer onboard but I am not lugging root beer onboard.

They have root beer onboard -- just not at the fountain soda machines. You have to purchase it in a can from the bar (believe it was Barq's). With all the gloomy weather on this year's EBTA, we had to get a couple of cans to make root beer floats to brighten things up -- and since it was treacherous to go to the soft serve machine to get ice cream, we got it from Cabanas. Made a much nicer float than with the soft serve.

Along the same route as a pp, I loved when Lumiere's/Triton's menu had a Chicken Caesar Salad as the Lighter Fare Salad option. Told my server I missed it. He said, I'll show you a trick. He ordered me a salad with some creamy dressing (may have been the Caesar dressing) and a Chicken from the Lighter Fare menu. He did all the work, took the chicken from the bone and chopped it, put it over my salad added the dressing and parmesan shavings. Viola had my Chicken Caesar Salad almost as good as when it was on the menu regularly!

Thank you for that!! If I get a hankering on the WBTA later this month I'll suck it up and buy a can of roobeer for my float!!!

I'm not sure if I've done it on DCL, but fries with cheese and gravy equals a non-really-poutine-but-close bowl of yumminess!!

Milkshake.
I bring insulated lidded cup, add soft serve, milk and shake. :drinking1
Kids add crumbled cookies at times.

Disclaimer: I only recommend trying this is you have a big sweet tooth. DH & I saw it on a YouTube video with some older teen boys and decided to try it. We managed only a couple bites each before giving up.

Order a Mickey bar and 2 chocolate chip cookies from room service. Pull the stick out of the Mickey Bar (this isn't hard because they have usually softened up just a bit) and put the Mickey Bar between the cookies for the ultimate chocolate and ice cream cookie sandwich.

Haven't seen gravy on DCL but have made cheesy chips this way (and added bluecheese sauce to them once for extra tang).

Mine is definitely sprite and the pineapple ice cream mentioned about. It makes kind of a pina colada taste and when you used to be able to bring rum onboard it was fantastic!

My favorite BBQ Sauce is Sweet Baby Rays, when I got on the Magic last month I was soooo happy to find they had little sachets/cartons/whatever of it. Added to the schwarma or to dunk my pizza crusts, or chicken nuggets in it was fantastic!

And no... I don't work for sweet baby rays... I'd be the size of a whale if I did!

Cubre Libre
Rum brought from home.
Coke from the free 24/7 station.
Lime from the buffet.
