Here's mine!

Baked French Toast

1 loaf of white bread (regular size loaf will do)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
12 eggs
8 oz. cream cheese

Cut-up bread into cubes. Layer 1/2 of the cubes in a 11 x 13 pan. Cube the cream cheese and layer over the bread. Add remaining bread.

In a bowl beat the eggs and add the maple syrup and the milk and beat until well blended.

Pour the egg mixture over the bread, cover and place in the fridge overnight.

On Christmas morning, uncover and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. It's done when the top is golden brown.

Serve warm with maple syrup.

You can also serve with strawberries and whipped cream.

Here's mine.....

Breakfast Casserole

1 can crescent rolls
1 lb sausage (I use Jimmy Dean Maple) fried, drained, crumbled
2 C cheddar cheese, shredded
4 large eggs, beaten
1/4 C milk
salt and pepper, to taste

Spread crescent rolls in 9 x 12 baking dish, be sure to seal all the seams. Sprinkle sausage over rolls. Cover with cheese. Mix eggs, mile salt and pepper then pour over cheese.

Bake at 350F 25 - 30 mins.

I usually have the sausage fried and the cheese shredded the night before. Then just assemble quickly and bake!

We like fresh fruit or pumpkin bread or even homemade cinnamon rolls with it! But then we usually eat a big breakfast early and a big lunch late!

We tried Tiggerkeeper's recipe last year for the first time & really liked it! We also had the Au Gratin Potatoes from Cinderella's Royal Table. We "grazed" from the time we got up until about 2:00...different items were removed & replaced as the day progressed, including the Strawberry Banana Bread from WL. Mmmmm!

This year we're going to try:

PEACH FRENCH TOAST

1 c packed brown sugar
½ c butter or margarine
2 Tbl water
1 can sliced peaches, drained (29 oz.)
12 slices French Bread, 3/4 inch thick (day old)
5 eggs
1 ½ c milk
1 Tbl vanilla
ground cinnamon

In a saucepan, bring brown sugar, water & butter to a boil. Reduce heat & simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour into a greased 13x9x2 inch pan. Top with peaches, arranging bread over peaches.

In a bowl whisk together eggs, milk & vanilla, slowly pour over bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate over night.

Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes covered. Remove cover & cook for 25-30 minutes or until bread is golden brown.

Last year we had Banana Stuffed French toast made with the recipe I got from the Kona Cafe at the Poly, but I LOST THE RECIPE!!!!! We've been renovating our kitchen, and I think it got thrown out in the chaos. Does anyone have this recipe. We love it.

How about . . .

BANANA STUFFED FRENCH TOAST

1 6-inch long loaf cinnamon raisin bread, unsliced
1-2 ripe, firm bananas, peeled
2 large eggs
1/8 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Butter
Syrup

Trim heels off of cinnamon bread loaf. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, dowel out a hole in the middle of the loaf. Stuff banana or bananas into hole
carefully so they don't mash. Whisk eggs, cream, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla extract in a bowl. Carefully slice cinnamon bread about
1/8-inch thick. Dip slices in egg bath. Melt butter in a large skillet and brown slices about 1 to 2 minutes per side. If doing this in batches, keep warm in
oven. Serve with maple syrup and pat of butter Only cut off slices you will be using. You can freeze the rest of the loaf and use any time.

I have a recipe for Stuffed French Toast, too! It's a bit different.

I got the recipe from the 1986 WDW recipe book Cooking with Mickey Around Our World. Here goes:

Stuffed French Toast aka Tonga Toast

Papeete Bay Verandah
Coral Isle Cafe
Polynesian Village Resort

Yield: 2 servings

2 or 4 slices sourdough bread cut 1-inch thick
1 banana
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
oil or shortening for frying
whipped butter, if desired
maple syrup, if desired

Depending on the size of the bread slices, cut a 1-inch pocket in one side of each bread slice. Cut banana in half crosswise, then split each piece lengthwise. Remove peel and stuff 2 pieces in each pocket of bread, again depending on size. If slices are small, use 4 and stuff 1 piece of banana in each pocket. Set aside. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. Mix egg, milk and vanilla until well blended.

Heat about 4 inches of oil or shortening in a pan to 350 degrees F. Dip stuffed bread into egg and milk mixture, soaking a few minutes to penetrate into bread. Fry in hot oil or shortening until lightly browned, turning to brown both sides, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels on cake rack. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and serve at once. If desired, spread with whipped butter and serve with maple syrup.

NOTE: If more servings are desired, double only the amount of bread, bananas, egg, milk and vanilla for 4 servings

we always have pain au chocolat, and freshly baked bread with lots of jam, honet etc for breakfast. I buy the bread that it partially cooked, and finish it off on christmas morning, so the house smells lovely, and just for a treat I get lots of little pots of individual sized jams, like you get in restaurants, and we have a basket full of them.

That's it - we are so excited for opening the presents, and have a big meal planned for later in the day, so we don't want a big breakfast, just some nice warm bread and coffee or hot chocolate to drink.

Thanks Piratesmate! The Tonga Toast is it!!!

We have a Breakfast Pizza. :D

I buy it at the local grocery store, but I may try to make it this year.

I would start by putting olive oil on the pizza crust, then add scrambled eggs, (a variety of) cheese, bacon & ham. I'd set the oven at 325 and cook it for approx. 20 mins or so.

It's really good!

*edited to add- I'd cook the bacon a bit before adding it to the pizza.

Ever since I was a little girl we had the big breakfast on Xmas morning. Bacon, Eggs, toast, potatoes, etc. I carried this on when I got married. One year I was having some people over for an evening before Xmas and I made homemade cinnamon buns. When xmas arrived we had eaten a large xmas eve dinner and my dh did not feel like eating a large breakfast and suggested we have the left over cinnamon buns and coffee. So we did. Now it is a tradtition in our family to have homemade cinnamon buns for Xmas morning.

All of the children are married and have moved but we still make them and deliver them on xmas eve so they have them on xmas mornig.
