Hi Disney friends!
I am having a severe case of the indecisive-itis. :worship:

I am planning a trip for 2 adults and 2 kids (10 and 9) this September 2017 and I want to do a split stay.

I have stayed at deluxes (Poly, GF, CR, WL, AKL, OKW) and a value (ASM), but NEVER a moderate! I would like to start out at a moderate and then move to a deluxe....

So, I would love to hear your favorite combo or any suggestion/input/advice you would give regarding my first experience with moderates.

TIA:daisy:

Well, I can tell you my favorite moderate, hands down POFQ, and with a 9 and 10 yo it would be great because you have access to POR, pool and food courts. Just take the boat down or a bus and within minutes you are at a bigger place, then back and you are in a small quient quiet tranquil place.

Deluxe that would be hard, but keeping in mind you kids ages, I would probably say Poly or BWI., for me it would be WL, because that is what we love.

If that those do not fit, my second depending on your kids but for our 11 yo grand baby this works, FW, she loves all the outdoor things, the horses and going horse back riding, the archery and taking classes, the fishing in the morning, there is just so much she liked about it, but it's not for everyone, but I think I would pick that and then maybe the poly or the GF.

Just so you know, we are not BC fans and will never go back to that dump again, but I'm sure you will get a lot that will suggest that one.

I would say POFQ for the mod and YC for the deluxe since you have never stayed there. It was a first time for us in Dec and we loved it. That was before the construction. It was great to walk or take the boat to Epcot and DHS.

Thank you, kind Dis'ers! POFQ has been calling my name for so long, and I have been so curious about it. Your replies confirm that I should give it a try! I am off to book POFQ, and am still debating between MK area deluxe versus Epcot area deluxe.

I was going to suggest CBR and Wilderness Lodge, or POR to Boardwalk and I'll tell you why.

Caribbean Beach is one of the larger resorts on property with a beautiful, fun atmosphere. It's got a great pool and I love walking the grounds taking it all in. It's a short ride to DHS and Epcot... in fact, you can even see the Epcot fireworks from some places on property (we loved watching them from a bench outside our room in July). Then, for the second half of your stay, you would head to Wilderness Lodge. Wilderness Lodge is one of the most relaxing resorts on property, in my opinion. Just walking through the front door of the lobby, you feel so at ease and almost like you can kick off your shoes and take a nap right there on one of the couches... and I've actually seen people do this so I know I'm not alone in that feeling. It's a very pleasant boat ride to the Magic Kingdom, which would mean that you had easy access to 3 of the 4 parks during this stay. I think the contrast between the fun of Caribbean Beach and relaxation that you will find at Wilderness Lodge would make for a fun and interesting vacation.

If you didn't want to go that route, I'd do Port Orleans Riverside to Boardwalk. Port Orleans Riverside is another one of those calm, relaxing resorts. It's just so gorgeous! After a high energy day at the park, I love coming back to these grounds where everything seems calm. I love walking around and seeing the spanish moss hanging off of the trees and then soft music playing in the background. After starting things off so calmly, you would then get to head to Boardwalk where there is ALWAYS something going on, it seems. In my opinion, Boardwalk is the most convenient resort on property with an easy walk to both Epcot and DHS. When you add in the entertainment and dining options on the boardwalk, it's easy to see why so many call this resort home. It would be a great place to end your vacation with a lot of fun activities that aren't often in people's first thoughts when it comes to planning a WDW vacation, but certainly help round one out.

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong pairing either Wilderness Lodge or Boardwalk with French Quarter, but I do think Boardwalk is a bit more convenient. And, since you have stayed at the monorail resorts, why not give an Epcot area resort a try?

POFQ and BC. The BC is our absolutely favorite resort and I've always wanted to try POFQ. Good luck!
