Fav places to stay in San Diego?

Hi all!

Just wondering what your favorite hotels are in San Diego if we decide to add that to a future Disney trip. I know this question has probably been asked before, so thanks for your patience!

We stayed in the Super 8 Mission Valley just off the I8 during our honeymoon this past April, we would definetly stay there again, the rooms although small were very clean, and the service we received there was great. This was the most inexpensive accomodation of our entire trip and it was believe it or not the best.

It's also close to lots of attractions and their public transit system.

We really like the Old Town Inn. It's cheap with free parking, free Wifi and free breakfast. It's right across the street from Old Town and a trolley, train and bus hub which makes getting downtown easy so you don't have to drive and then pay for parking. The rooms are not overly luxurious but clean and comfortable.

We really enjoy the Hyatt La Jolla. We stay there every year. However, this year, we couldn't get our dates for the Hyatt, so we stayed at the Sheraton Carlsbad, next to Legoland. That was really nice too. I think both of those hotels are really nice with a good pool area.

We loved the Hotel Catamaran. Right on the beach, close to Sea World and the Zoo and the parrots in the lobby and the pool were great.
