Father Son coast to coast, DL to WDW Oct trip 2013

So we stay at the Good day Inn Buenia park just out side Anahiem, about a 5 min drive to Knots berry farm. Not to bad. We got to the hotel just after 1pm(check In time was 3pm) they let us go ahead and check In early, very nice. I requested a room on the third floor because i needed a fridge for my Insulin, i am diabetic and apparently only the rooms on the third floor have fridges. The room was kind of cramp we had two double beds. My bed was a little softer then the floor LOL, but suprisely i slept pretty good. Jason's, I thought would be the same until a couple days later i sat on his bed and it was super soft!, he offered to switch when i told him but i was doing ok with my bed, plus he has a bad back to. There was not a heck of a lot of room between the beds and the walls, at the foot of the beds was a dresser and fridge and the TV. We had to put the luggage and my golf bag just inside the door right by the entrance to the restroom, so it was a little tight but we where just fine

So here was my bed, see the little airline pillow,yep i used it to sleep with. I usually have three pillows any way.

This was the beutfull parking lot view we did not have to pay extra for!!

This Is my best friend on trips to anywhere hot, the AC never ever leave home with out knowing you have a very good operating AC.

my sons bed he can almost sleep with no pillows??. My Lab top that I only made one attempt to down load photos, wow good for checking emails very bad for down loading anything, super slow.
My little fridge, really was pretty good its like the ones you would get at the Mods at WDW. It was nice to have a cold drink when you come back at night

Well that was the short tour of our luxuary accomdations, we stay there for a bit, got ready for MNSSHP. We decided not to use one of our 4 day park hopper and just go into DL at 3pm(that was when they where letting people with only MNSSHP into the park) so we hug out in the room until 2pm and then headed to Mickey's House. More tomorrow, we are going to see a scary movie, splinter.

So we where off to DL and MNSSHP. We park In the Toy story parking lot, the bus system from and to the parking lots where so great, i can only dream the bus system at WDW was any where as good as this, i know shorter distant, but wow we never ever did not have a bus when getting to the park or at night when leaving.
Well we get to the park, DL and the lines to get into the parks where huge, the line where huge getting into the , this was a issue the whole trip. It seems that with all the money and technology they can make a better flow system getting into the parks?, and this is just not at DL but at WDW to!. They do not make you do the finger print, but you have to physacily have to hand it to the CM they scan it, some make a point to ask for ID, some ask you sign it?,it seems they all have a different way, why?. Then they want to question you?? it really takes the pixie dust out of you!.
So we get in and here is something WDW stop doing at special events, the wrist bands, we got them i actually like them its easier then showing your card every time.

Something i have to do some times, I am a slow type so i have to stop before the computer gods time me out. I have lost complete statements because i type for to long and they would not let me retrieve it.
Well we where In and Headed straight down main street USA!!, such a great saying and song to!. What to do first??, that was answered really quickly by Jason LOL, the shops!. We like to shop and Jason really loves to shop, i know where guys where suppose to be just the oppoist, but one of the things me and Jason love to do at Disney and a away is shop. Well we hit the shops on the way down main street with no damage LOL, then we deiced to head to POTC. Right off the bat something we notice right a way, the lines where long and this was to be a regular theme the entire week. Not that I would complain, i love the lines, now my DS, not happy about that, he dislikes lines, not hates them, but dis likes them. I like to people watch and gives some time to reflect on what we did and are going to do.
Well it took us about a half a hour to get through to POTC, i love the two drops at the DL version, i so wish WDW had it, but by now if WDW change, i would miss the one they have,it just go's with WDW its part of it for me now.
Afterwords we where off to HM,never seen HM with NmBC set up,it really live up to its reputation. Supisenly on this day this was the shortest line,it was the only time we got in line in side the HM gate. We where in about 20 min. Its amazing how they re did the HM with NMbC, you would of thought, if you have never been on the ride that is how it always look.

Well I wanted to add some photos, but it seems i lost a lot of them??, not all but I have none from MNSSHP. Ok finish up on our first day and MNSSHP night. We spent most of the day In frontier land and New Orleans square. There parade schedule was 4pm and 6:30. We chose to do the 6:30pm parade, so we could take advantage of the low lines for the rides LOL ya right! where was the short lines for rides?, at MNSSHP in WDW during the parades is walk on to rides, not at DL LOL. So in between rides we chic or treated. at about 6pm spotted out our spot for the parade. This is where my first surprise in the difference, no headless horsemen, no boo to you parade. It was not a bad parade, but boo to you is so much fun. We then went to have Dinner at Village Haus we both had the pastrami buger, yum on both very good. We then continued trick or treating and went on rides. At 9pm we went to pick out a spot for the fireworks, we decided to sit over In frontierland, this is also my other surprise difference. There was no music back there?, it was kind of different to watch the fireworks with no music. At WDW they have the music through out the Park. But It was still fun but next time sit out front. well we stay around for another hour(the park close at 11pm) then started to make our way out. We have been up since 2am so we where starting to feel it. We got out and to the car at about 11:15 and back to the hotel at 11:30, the day finally come to the end. It was such a fun day the bed never felt more comfortable.

Type it out in Microsoft Word or in notepad first. And then copy and paste it into the Dis. That way, you won't have to worry about the timeout and you can save it as you go along.

Well we got some wonderful news yesterday, Jason's Girlfriend decided to join us for both our DL trip In July and our WDW trip In Oct. Her name Is Rachel and she is from outside of Seattle, right on the ridge of the Cascade Mt, he really likes her, the funny thing is she Is from the same town that his x-GF is from, its such a small town that had to take some work. He gets along great. Right now she is a littl scared, because she has a scare of rollercoaster, motion sickness. I reassured her most of the rides at WDW and DL are pretty lo in the area exciment!, US In Orlando, well thats another story!

OK day two Wednesday the 3rd of Oct, it was a late night so we took advantage of the late park opening(Both DL and DLC both open at 10am today) and slept in. This was going to be day one of two days of golfing for me. The back was not doing so good so i decided to scrap my golf for the trip. I have had neck surgery(10 years ago), i have a pinch saratic nerve in my lower left leg and a bad right knee!, and a bad lower back, but i love the game so much. Oh well could be worse right. Anyway, we got up around 8:30 Jason wanted to get somethings at Walmart before heading to DL/DLC. Got to the Toy story parking lot at around 10am and decided to go to DLC to start the Day. We got Inside the park by 10:30am. We started making our way to Radiator springs, we seen this long line that wrap it self back to-rads muppit vision, when we found out where it went to, it was the fast pass to radiator springs we decided to jump in and see if we could grab a fast pass. Well we where unable to get a fast pass, so we just decided to go over there and go through the stand by.

Well we made it over there and found out they had single rider line and decided to do that
It took us about 40 min to ride. It was very fun, the characters are great and Mador was the
star again(my opinion) his joke with tipping the tractors LOL. Its alot like test track
at WDW, not as fast but has a lot more Disney feel to it then test track)it feels like your inside a commercial)
After that we made our way over for a smoke break, do not tell my DS, but I
really like the breaks, then off to Toy story mania. Hour later we where ready for lunch.
We love to eat, and really love to eat when we are at Disney. At WDW we plan our restaurants into our vacation
at DL they do not offer as much selection but we make sure we make it to our Fav.
Well on the way out we decided to hit sorain on the way out, this Is one ride we make sure we hit as many
times as we can while we are at DLC. LOL at WDW this ride is never under 70 min , at DLC
this ride is(at least that i seen over 70 min long), so we seen it was 30min, I almost wanted to take a picture of it
It went faster then 30 and we where done and off to lunch In about 30min.
Well I had plan on eating at the Jazz kitchen express, Jason look and nothing excited him. We went to the TS
version next door and all the appetizers where from the ocean, wch he loves, and i hate.
He asked if this was OK, i said ya but i don't want no apps, all seafood, he said we could
eat somewhere else, i said no, if this is what you want, he said no lets goto the house
of blues,another one of our Fav. I felt bad but we did end up changing our mind and going there
the HOB. I think on our trip In July I will just go there any way, he wanted to try there calamari
We got into HOB, inside seats, it was a little on the humid side so Jason did not want to try to sit
on the porch. It did catch me a little by suprise the prices!, but just a little, but the eyeopening was the portion sizes.
I do not mind forking over the money, specialy if we are on vacation its another not getting
your moneys worth. We where going to get the street tacos, the waiter pre warn us we only get three
for 11.00(i told Jason later) really 11.00 and you only get three??, so not worth it. We ended up
getting the Buffalo wings same price and you could easly feed three with the order,very confused.
I got the Pork sandwich with french onion soup and it came with cole slaw. My DS got the
steak with fries all was pretty good. The one thing i did not order that i forgot to was
the cornbread, if you ever go there do order the corn bread, it is so good. Well we where off to DL.

This Is what i just love about Disney the details in and around the rides, this is what separates Disney from everyone else.

I really do not understand Disney's thinking? they just seem to drop the ball when It comes to there ticketing, all those great minds there and they can not figurine out a better system to get people into the park more stream line. Heres the kicker to, DL and WDW do it differently, there so worried there going to lose a dollar that they make everyone suffer through there experimentation. The Bag check, really why even bother they don't stop anyone for bringing anything but a weapon or alcohol, and if you where going to bring aether, would you really put it in a bag to get search?. Seems like they do it to cover a insurance requirement, just my opinion.
If I was Disney i would just have a bar scanner with out the finger print scanner and have the customer do it, not give it to the cm wow talk about a waste of time. if it does not go through with two swipes set those people to the side, have one of the people doing nothing help them not continue to go back and fourth with the customer and the CM, that's what holds the line up the most!. The Bickering back and fourth just takes for ever and only then will bring another CM over to help. With the Bag check, do a way with It!!! please, or In force it 100% that would suck for Family's with kids and bringing snacks for them but really the bag check is useless other wise

OK then they should actually do security checks it kind of scares me( my profession is Security) they take a a pen and act like there looking in your bag, really i could take what ever i wanted in there and there security staff would never know it. It just seems you stand in line and wait for 10 min at least assure me that i am in line for a reason.
Speaking of Security, just got hired today. I am a career security supervisor, was lay off in July after 8 years with the same company. Good news new company( i had a secret desire to go back to the same company, did not happen) new start. Kind if excited, kind of nervous. LOL they asked me if there was anything they should know about me, i kind of wanted to tell them i take a couple of Disney vacations a year, but thought i should wait. They will understand its WDW after all everyone go's to Disney right??
