My father (75) was sitting at the computer and said that his vision suddenly went sideways (everything turned on its side)and then snapped back a few seconds later. He has had dizzyness problems for the past 10 years but never this. He won't call the doctor or go for a visit.
Has anyone ever heard of this and what it can mean. Thanks.

I would very strongly encourage him to go to a doctor.

At his age and with his symptoms, he needs to be assessed for TIA's (no, NOT "thanks in advance" -- Transient Ischemic Attacks, or "mini strokes")

Get him to a doctor.

Thanks. For the info. He we live very far apart so I will have to call Mom and insist.

My uncle had the same type of thing happen with his losing control of his eye muscles temporarly and it was a TIA as Deb described. I believe they did a complete checkup and put him on some type of medication (not sure if it was for other things they found) and he has done fine since.

I hope you can get your father seen by a physician soon. Sounds like a scary situation.
