Fastpasses for Parades?

This is my first time using FastPass plus/ Magic bands. Im reserving my fastpasses online and I see "Illuminations" and different parades on the list.

Whats the point of getting fastpasses for parades and shows?? Does it give you certain seating?

For parades and fireworks, FastPasses give you access to a sealed-off area that will offer a decent view and not be terribly crowded.

I do think it's worth it at least once, to be able to enjoy them front & center without the excessive crowding that is standard on Main Street & the hub.
