This happened to me and didn't even know it could.

Grab Indy fastpass at 1pm but wasn't good till 4pm
So at 3pm I went to get another indy pass and the machine
Said no u already have one.

Now at 3pm I could go get any other fastpass np but I couldn't get another
Indy pass till 4pm.

Has this always been the case?

You can have multiple at the same time, but you can only have one per attraction at any given time.

Yes. As the PP mentioned, you can get a FP for any other ride either when your FP return time has come, or in 2 hours, whichever comes first. The only catch is that you can't get one for the SAME ride before the FP return time has come.

As SJ said, yes it has always been the case. AT DLR. Interestingly, WDW does not work this way for whatever reason. And this does cause some confusion for folks who go to both DLR and WDW.

So when you get a FP at DLR and it says you can get another FP at XYZ time, there is a hidden asterisk that it is for any other ride than the FP ride.

Well glad to see it was always like that I was like huh.

Figured I'd stack up indy passes my kid loves that ride.

Another thing I know is last week I could fastpass the railroad and get anoth in 45 min yet the line was 40 min wait easier to fp it a few times then wait in line.

Daughter was big enough for the screamer this time she loves it.
Screamer ran out of fastpass and the wait was 60+ min wait never seen it like that.
