Wanted to pass along something I learned this week about FP at DLRP. I understand DLRP changed how they do FP in April so when I queried DIS on FP no one had any thorough info. FP does work similarly to the American parks in some regards but has some important differences in how it was working this week.

1. No late FPs

This is not news to anyone here, I believe, but is different from the American parks FWIW.

At least on Buzz today. I tried to use a Buzz FP one hour after expiration this afternoon and was rejected. When I got the FP I was not sure whether I wanted to ride Buzz a second time this week ( I was balancing a decision to ride Buzz or see the Once Upon A Dream parade again). Missing Buzz was not a big deal. Plus I will get to ride Buzz in California in a couple weeks.

But after the parade and some additional shopping I stopped by Buzz one hour after the window closed to see if I could use the FP and was rejected.

2. Time Delay To Get Your Next FP - Incorrect Info Printed on FP Ticket

Once you get a FP at the American parks the typical delay until you can get another FP for another ride is a minimum of 40-45 minutes and a maximum of two hours. It depends on the most recent FP windows. You can get another FP when your most recent FP window opens or two hours pass, whichever comes first.

From what I can tell at DLP this week (never got a FP at WDS) the time you can get your next FP is always tied to the window of your most recent FP. For example today I picked up a Buzz FP at 1:30PM with a return window of 3:50-4:20PM. My Buzz FP (which I never used and have in front of me) said I could not get another FP until 3:50PM which was 2 hours 20 minutes away.

Out of curiosity I tried before 3:50PM on BTM and got a FP reject slip that said, interestingly, that I could get another FP at 3:30PM (not 3:50PM as the Buzz FP stated). So it was nearly 3:30PM so I stayed close to BTM and tried the FP machines again at 3:30PM and out came the FP. In conclusion I would tell you not to trust what is printed on your most recent FP for the next available FP time. You may be able to get one earlier that it says you can. Mine was available two hours later.

Perhaps DLRP does follow the American FP methods and lets you get a FP after two hours have gone by? Even though it tells you it will be more than two hours?

Hello!

Thank you very much for the information!
But I do belive that the DLRP fastpass system works like this:

---
You can get one fastpass for each attraction at the same time. That means you could go to BTM and get a Fastpass, then directly go to Peter Pan and get a Fastpass for that one, too, and so on.

For the attractions, you already have a fastpass ticket, you can get a new one when the time window of the previous fastpass begins. That means if your Fastpass for BTM is valid from 3:00-3:30PM, you can get another ticket for BTM at 3:00PM.
---

If this was true, then I guess you perhaps had a Fastpass ticket for BTM valid from 3:30-4:00PM which would have given you the possibility to get a new one as of 3:30PM. Can you confirm this?

Greetings from Germany, Wuzefelix

Unfortunately the system has now changed and was announced not that long ago, so the great old days of holding multiple FP are no more :sad2:

Thanks for the update, Trey. :goodvibes Definitely worth trying for a FP after two hours then. :thumbsup2

Ouch!! My head hurts!! ;)
Good to have the info though, we're off on Monday, can't wait!!

I'm happy about this change. It stops the school groups running around and grabbing all the fastpasses.

I believe the reason why it said you couldn't get another FP until 3:50 is because the ticket is talking about another one for THAT ride, not for any ride (which admittedly it doesn't make very clear).

By going to a different ride's FP machine then the two hour time limit was in effect, so that's why you were able to get one at 3:30.

Or at least that's how I understand it!

I still have the unused FP. Similar to what FPs say at WDW and DLR it says this:

"Another FASTPASS ticket will be available after 15:50"

This means you need to wait until 3:50PM to get your next FP. So it was not talking about Buzz, it was talking about any ride.
