I know that they dont force the return times, but what if lets say, i pick up a space mtn. fastpass at noon and come back to DL at 8pm, will the cm let me through the fastpass line, especially since it gets really crowded at night?

Yes, you should be able to do that. We frequently picked up FPs in the early part of the day and used them later in the day.

Yep, as the PP you should. We always do this and we have never been turned away..

That is very true, you can save it for your next trip even. We did that once, and it was 6 months apart!!

Wow. That's funny because I just found DS's "stash" of fastpasses he was planning on using next time we go to disneyland. I said they wouldnt' be good anymore and he decided to throw them away. I hope he doesn't read this!!!

Really? I didnt know you could save them for a next trip.

FP's are supposed to be only good for the day they are issued. I have never tried using them on subsequent trips, and this is the first I have ever heard of someone successfully doing it. Personally, I wouldn't count on it working. But if someone else wants to try and report back?? :confused3

some cm' i've noticed pay close attention to your fastpass tickets, making sure the date and time is correct, others do not. basically it's only the cm when you first enter the queue. the cm that you give your actual fastpass to doesn't usually check, just collects the ticket. my suggestion is if the cm at the beginning of the queue catches it you could always just pretend you didn't know, then once you go into the regular queue, hop over the line and continue in the fastpass line then hand the cm your original fastpass ticket. hope i explained this good.

I've been told that they are not good unless you use them the same day. Not in the 1 hour window but same day. I've never tried to use them the next day............I wouldn't even consider trying it though.

I have never tried either, or have heard of it working. I have several from our last trip, and I always thought they are only good on that day...

Fastpasses are only valid for the day they are issued. It is true you can sometimes trick CMs into taking them on a different day, just like you could color photocopy them and trick CMs who are not paying close attention. People alos sell them on Ebay. All of the latter are breaking the rules as they clearly say what day they are good for.

As for the OP, I have gotten a Space Mtn FP at 8AM and used it after 11PM at night. It is DLR policy (and WDW policy FWIW) to accept FPs any time during or after the FP window on the day issued.

The funny experience some of us have had (and I have had twice) is talking a FP from say 9AM back for use at say 7PM in the evening and having a CM reject it because "it is too early" and you cannot use a FP before its window. When I point out the FP is for 9AM and not 9PM (as they thought) then they say "Oh, then you are OK. Go ahead".

I believe some CMs on some rides at WDW will not accept passes once the window has expired.

Actually the WDW policy is the same as the DLR policy. The only ride at WDW that has been known to turn away late FP users is Soarin and that is only when the FP return line is backed up. Otherwise even at WDW you can use late FPs.

To the whole FP discussion, I totally agree with Hydroguy. Technically you can do it, but does it make it right? No. I could buy someone's already used park hopper off of eBay and use a day or two even though it says "non-transferable" and it would still work. But is it right? No.

Have I done that though? :rolleyes1 You didn't hear anything! ;)

Yeah...that's why I said SOME CMs and SOME rides.

I don't claim to be an expert like hydroguy over there. I'm just repeating things I've read on the WDW section of this board.

I made the mistake of asking a CM at Buzzlightyear last week if the policy was the same as the prior year as far as being able to use them anytime after the window. He started telling me that they needed to be used during the printed time. I played a bit stupid as to his authority and said I would check with the CM who took the pass and just proceeded onto the ride. I felt a bit guilty the rest of my trip, not being sure if I was breaking the rules or not. Is it truly official policy, or do they just not care and thus look the other way?

That might be. But we have not encountered one yet. We have been using FPs after their window over the last five days at all four WDW parks without a second look or comment as of yet. Today we used FPs twice at the new TSM ride - with no comment.

Sorry, I forgot you were an expert.

Actually I do not think you are sorry. And actually I do not claim to be an expert here - especially at WDW where I have only visited twice.

However, I do claim to be an expert on my own experience since I am the one who has experienced it. And I merely said that we have not encountered a problem using late FPs over the last five days at WDW. We have done this about 20 times this week including once at Soarin. If other people have had problems, well, that is their experience.
