Hi!

This is our first year requiring a ticket for our 3 yr old. She obviously cannot ride any rides by herself and will always need an adult with her. If we do a ride (say the Speedway) or the character meet/greets, is it required for one accompanying adult to also have a FP?

Last year at age 2, a cast member said that two of us could go through on a character FP at DAK with just one adult with the FP and the small non-ticketed child. I doubt this is Disney's standard policy so I just want to abide by what is allowed. I'd hate to burn an adult's FPs for all the child stuff but just want to plan it out right.

Thanks!

She must have a FP and so does an adult. I believe to ride the rides a child must be 7 to ride without an adult or get in line without the adult. So yes, the adult and child must both have the FP for the attraction/meet and greet.

We've always all had fastpasses for rides with our 3 year old. I never had a castmember say we didn't need them. We don't do character meets, so I can't comment on those.

Everyone who gets in the fastpass line has to have a fastpass.

I'm really shocked that you got an exception before. I've never heard of that happening before.

2 and under never need a fastpass as they don't need tickets. As soon as they turn 3 they need a fastpass just like everyone else. As for character meet and greets, everyone in the fastpass line needs a fastpass.

you could do last year as she was a nonticketed child but now as a ticketed child both child and adult will need a FP to ride or character meet as she is not 7 years old to be able to go by self

When you're under 3 you don't count as having a ticket, so you don't need a fast pass (if that makes sense)

Each person over the age of three who rides needs a FP. So yes, your 3 year old and the adult riding with her both need FP.

If you need a ticket you need a FP+.
Children under 3 don't need a ticket therefore don't need a FP+.
Your child is now 3 and needs a ticket therefore need a FP+.

Yes but she got into a line last year with two adults and one fp. I think. That’s what’s throwing her this year.

a cast member said that two of us could go through ...with just one adult with the FP and the small non-ticketed child.

If I’m reading it right, yes that was an exception. Usually all ticketed humans need a FP to get into a FP line.

I originally thought that there were two adults, but after reading very carefully, I think it was just the OP and the child
