so i got the 'unofficial' guide to disneyland 2008. in there it states that you no longer have to go back to an attraction within the designated time. so if you get a fastpass for space mountain and the ticket says to come back between 12pm and 1pm...that you can go back ANYTIME AFTER 12pm...and you don't have to use it by 1pm. is this true? :confused3 my sister is pretty much a "by the rule" type of girl and she was there just this past may...and she didn't think that was true. can anyone confirm?

You are correct. In addition you can get another fast pass at the time stated on your ticket (Something like next fast pass available at ____) Enjoy!:goodvibes

Is this true? Yes, this is common knowledge. :goodvibes

Many people "almost never" return during the FP Return Window.

Here's what HydroGuy wrote in the HydroGuy Tips Compilation:

"There were two days when we got into DL at the 8AM opening. One was the EE day when we were in by 7AM. On these days I made a beeline to one of the popular FP rides (it was SM on both days) to get FPs. Being that it was early in the day, the return time on one day was 8:45AM and on the other day was 8:55AM. Thus I could get another FP at these times. Note that I never intended to actually go on SM during the FP window. We then proceeded to go on rides and pick up FPs as soon as we possibly could. By the time 1:30 rolled around and we left for a break, I had a whole bunch of FPs to use after our break." -HydroGuy

Collect those FastPasses and have fun! :wizard:

HTH :earsboy:

That's standard knowlege around these parts, and key to making the most of your time. You collect FPs all morning without using them, so you can ride the rides that don't take FP. Then you ride all the rides that you have FPs for later in the day.

Read Hydroguy's excellent tip compilation at the top of this forum. In it, he has several guides to using FP in this manner, including one with pictures. I like that one best, it really shows you clearly how to do it. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

FP collecting is also really great when you travel with a stroller and kids that are too short for some FP rides. Then your fast passes are doubled when you get a child swap pass from the fast pass line. We love fast pass and child swap, one of us goes on the ride with whatever kid wants to and then when we are done, the other adult can go on the ride with someone else. Only one or 2 fastpasses are used instead of 3 or 4. It's brilliant.

Yes. And has been true for the last five years. I have myself have done it at least 100 times with never a second look.

As far as rules go, it is not breaking the rules. Accepting FPs after their window has been DLR policy for many years. Many cast members who work the rides have confirmed that it is policy.

thanks, everyone, for your responses! we'll definitely be making uses of the fastpass and babyswap, since we'll be there with our 2 year old and 8 month old.
i can now tell my sister that she doesn't have to go during the "return anytime between" timeframe printed on the fastpass :)

Be prepared for her to counter with "I heard they weren't allowing that anymore." And be prepared for the possibility of them sticking to the written rule when you try it. I'm not saying don't try - I've never had it happen to me and I'll keep doing it until they say no. But how can they? People will always get stuck in lines, or have to eat or change diapers, or a number of things that can happen and cause you to miss a window. How does a CM know that that didn't happen to you, too.

There's been stuff on the news that they are supposedly going to try to tighten up on this because of the issues they are having with fake FPs and those being sold on ebay. A lot of people are saving their Dream FPs and such and being told that they will still work on other days. This is not what Disney intended, so they are going to be checking closer. This was supposed to be happening at WDW, so it may start happening here at DL.

We followed Hydro Guys advise. :cool1: We were there before the park opened and walked on Indy and waited about 30 mins for Nemo then rode SM and Buzz. Collected as many FP as we could along the way!!!:thumbsup2

Took naps, went to the pool, showered and went back to the parks with all of our FP. :woohoo:

Thanks Hydro Guy!:) :flower3:
