Fastpass for fireworks and parade?

Reserved areas for each. Worth is subjective of course...my opinion can be found via the link in my signature.

Why do you need fastpass for the fireworks and parade and is it worth it?
I think it depends on the show.
Fantastic I would book a fastpass
Wishes I wouldn't
Illuminations maybe depends of crowd levels
Parades if your will to wait a a good 45 minutes prior to the parade for a good seat then no but if you want to do stuff up until parade time then I would book one.

Fantasmic FP+ is almost universally panned by anyone who's been since the reserved section was removed.

We were there last week for Thanksgiving and here are my thoughts....

Wishes - DEFINITELY!!! You get a spot in the rose garden just off to the right of the castle. It's about the same view as the dessert party but you are closer. The people with us were kind enough to all sit so we were able to watch it all while seated on the lawn of the rose garden instead of being pressed up against strangers in the Thanksgiving crowds. I will do this EVERY single time we go to MK.

Fantasmic - Not worth it at all in my opinion because you are lumped together with all the stand bys in a mad dash for seats. I would not choose this one again. There is no special section and no guarantee that you will be let in before stand-by folks so there is no need to grab this one.

Parade - We didn't use these so I have no opinion.

Fantasmic FP+ is a waste of a FP without the reserved section, IMO.

MSEP we did in October. It was great. I haven't done the others nor would I.

I did FP+ for MSEP and Wishes in October. It worked out great because I spent most of the day in Epcot and walked into MK about 7:30 for the 8PM parade and had a great spot with plenty of clear space. After parade a restroom visit and then back for fireworks, again with plenty of clear space. Since most of my trips are solo, not having to wait in one spot for a long period of time for a great view and no one to hold a spot was great.

What does that mean "Move to view fireworks"

I guess my question is, after the parade do you have to vacate that FP+ area or can you stay and view MMY and Wishes from there?

I never even thought of using a FP+ for parade or fireworks but now am starting think it might be a worthwhile idea. Hate trying to fight the crowds to find and retain a good spot.

1- I guess my question is, after the parade do you have to vacate that FP+ area

2- or can you stay and view MMY and Wishes from there?

1- Nope.
2- You can, but if you do stay, the major large fireworks of the show
will be substantially blocked by the castle, itself
(as the parade FP+ reserved area is too close to the castle for good fireworks "clearance,")
You will be much better off moving to the approximate area
to which my arrows point immediately following the passing of the parade.
(It's only about 50 feet, or so.)

My opinion from Thanksgiving Week...

Fantasmic- Waste-no reserved seating. Esp with tiering, skip it.

MSEP-loved it. We got to the viewing area about 8:40pm for a 9pm parade and sat right on the rope. Great pictures with the castle, loved it so much we booked it again for Thanksgiving day...no problem with availability for the 9pm show...it was a little more crowded, but not bad. However if you stay for Wishes prepare to be overrun by the masses once the parade ended.

Wishes-after the MSEP we went to the rose garden for Wishes. No problem maneuvering over there. Only complaint was that the garden grass where they expect you to sit was soaked. People near us said it is often wet, and suggested bring a blanket. Great view for tink's flight and nice for Wishes. Did not repeat, but enjoyed it.

Hope that helps!

Bringing the topic back out... Need to make FP+ reservations in the next week and didn't know if any opinions have changed about using FP for parade or fireworks...
