Fastpass communication

has anyone heard of Disney communicating to you via text for fastpasses? I.e making sure you got on a ride that was down during your fastpass time. Someone is claiming they had a text convo with Disney fastpass.

Not a convo per se but I did get a text when TSMM went down just when my FP time was starting. It said that, because of this, I could use the FP at any of a list of other attractions any time before closing (including TSMM if it went back up).

This person had an actual person texting her and gave her a fastpass to use on her next trip.

Between my last 2 trips, I changed my MDE email account from my main home email, to the email account that forwards to my cell phone. I had a FP change, and I didn't realize it until I checked in on the MDE app for something else. Now I get the email on my phone and I know within a few minutes of the changes.

No, I have never heard of that before. I would question the details on it. Its generally considered bad guest relations to converse via text message. Its ok to deliver facts, and reminders, but sending back and forth would be bad form.

I have been push notified by the app and emailed when a ride is down and my fastpass turns into an all day, use at similar ride fastpass.. (It's also great as it doesn't count as your +1 so you can kiosk more, including more of that ride that turns into more of these if the ride is still down when your time comes up..)..

I saw that last night and thought it was a bit odd. I can't believe that Disney would even care to do that. My initial thoughts were that the person getting the text had already complained about stuff earlier in the trip, which might explain why they had somebody taking a personal interest.

I have heard anecdotal stories about Concierge level guests getting 4th and subsequent FPs by text.

Notified by email and was allowed to substitute a fastpass whenever & wherever.

Although I see it was the same person who got a free pair of shoes when she stepped in something nasty outside 7DMT, reiterates my thoughts above that maybe it is somebody who brought several issues to the attention of management (even though I know that person said they didn't).
