Not really asking for myself... but booking fastpass+ for DD and her friends. They are with the band and I am not too sure about their schedule on the day of their performance... say if I book fastpass+ for an attraction and if they were late, will they still allow them to use the fastpass to get on the ride?
I think in the old system, they allowed the kids to get on the ride...

There is a built-in 5-minute before and 15-minute after grace period, but even that can be overridden. Just plan their hour with time to spare and they'll be fine. Years ago you could return later, but that ship has long since sailed.

Answers to FP FAQs like yours can be found in the green link in my signature.

We ran into some traffic 2 weeks ago and were about 15 minutes late to our FP and figured they wouldn't work but decided to give it a try anyways to see and they worked - with that said I don't know when it would no longer work. We thought for sure it would just be 5 minutes or so.

Now, if you are within fifteen minutes of the ending time on the FastPass, you can ride. Usually. So, if the FastPass was for 2:15-3:15 and you arrive AT the queue line at 3:29 or maybe even 3:30, you could probably ride. But if you arrived at 4:30, sorry, no.

The old system is not in effect anymore and it wasn't just kids allowed on the ride after the time expired.

I read a post not too long ago where someone was off to guest services to complain. They claim they were just a few minutes late. It seems that when the parks are busy they Will enforce the times

The usual grace period is 5 minute before and 15 minutes after the FP time. However you should never depend on those grace times. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

Yep - that's why is safe to use the word "usually". FastPass times should be adhered to as closely as possible.

However, if you are held up by something in Disney's control but not in your control (like a bus breaking down or a monorail stalling or a boat breaking down), then you could ask for a second chance.
