We will be in Disneyworld November 9th-15th. The first two nights at the Polynesian and the next 4 nights at Animal Kingdom.

Will I just be able to book first three days of fast passes and then have to wait 2 days to book the rest or has Disney figured this out yet. I think it is crazy you get penalized for split trips.

Split Stays are described in the FP FAQ. For your scenario, you'll book for ALL your park days when your FP booking window opens. No one is penalized for split stays when booking FPs; not even onsite to off site guests.

So if we are at contemporary resort the first 2 days then move to swan the same applies? I can book for all 7 days at the same time? Thank you again!

Yes. Swan is an onsite resort: onsite stay to onsite stay keeps the FP booking window fully open for all of your park days! :)

If I understand it correctly, I believe we are being penalized for our split stay. We are staying Nov 11-Nov 20. We had to book two reservations to take advantage of the free dining. We have one for Nov 11-Nov 15 just room and dining. Then we have one Nov 15-20 with room, free dining and our 7 day park hopper. We are being allowed to use our 7 day ticket from 2nd reservation for Nov 11 due to the 10 day advance rule but will not be able to book FP for the days between Nov 11-Nov 14 until we arrive and have the ticket activated on Nov 11. Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes. You aren't being penalized because of the Split Stay - you are restricted because of the tickets that are part of the "package" for Stay #2.

Those tickets do not become active until your actual check-in date. That's why you can only book FPs for your specific "package" reservation.

As soon as you reach WDW, activate your tickets and immediately book FPs for those park days.
