we're on a break day today, having fun and relaxing. we'd like to take a leisurely ride on the monorail, how best to do this from AoA? I'm thinking take Skyliner to HS...then a bus to a monorail resort? which one would be closest? do the monorail resorts have buses?

I'd take a bus to MK, then walk to CR for the monorail. But your approach would also work - just take longer. But that might not matter!

I would take the Skyliner to Riviera, grab some snacks and coffee from Le Petit cafe and take a bus to MK from there.

You could go to Epcot via Skyliner and take a boat to the Boardwalk if leisure is the goal.

My kids would hound me to go to Fort Wilderness (boat from MK and internal bus) and if you have little ones they can ride the ponies (closes 2 pm?)

We took the skyliner to HS and hopped on a bus to the Grand Floridian (because it was the first monorail bus to show up … it literally pulled into the stop as we approached from the skyliner) to see the gingerbread house and then took the monorail to the contemporary to see their display and walked back to the MK to catch a bus to AOA.

The skyliner to DHS is a game changer in terms of getting to other resorts from AOA! It’s runs continuously, waits are virtually non-existent if it’s not park closing/openly. The trip to DHS is very quick … and from the skyliner station at DHS it’s a short walk to the resort bus stops. We used this method to get to the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom lodges as well as monorail resorts.

To come back you would have to take the monorail to MK and then go to the bus stop to go to a resort. We did this when we went to Fort Wilderness from the Poly. You do have to go through security at the Poly.

Best option: You could take the bus to HS (from a monorail resort) and catch the Skyliner again.

Each monorail resort has a bus going to theme parks (no resort to resort bus).

I would take the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios and then a bus to the next monorail resort. It would be the most fun and the least amount of walking. The bus to MK would require you to go through security before you could get on the monorail.
