This has been a great trip so far.

Highlights.

Expedition Everest
Dinosaur is as good as I remembered.
Soar'n. Truely amazing.
Rides that never bore RRC, ToT, Mission Space and test track.
Our new Canadian movie, I can proudly say I'm Canadian after that!
Lights,Motors,Action. Wow WOw WOW.
Oh ya, our maid is the animal towel master.

Lowlights.

MVMCP was rained on badly and the first shelter we could find was Small World and I can get the damn song out of my head:scared: :scared: The fire works went off but the rain pushed all the smoke back to the ground and people complain about us smokers. Some points of the show you could only see about 100ft for all the smoke. The parade was ok and the snow on Main street was neat but not enough to justify the money they wanted IMO.

The buses seem off this year, it might be the time of year because I've seen alot of buses with "training" on them.

There was a family outside of the Rainforest Cafe last night (Hillbillies come to mind), the mother was screaming at her daughter (10?) threating to knock her into next week if she didn't behave, aunt came over and grabed the little girl pulling her away saying she'll take care of it. The father looking around at the gathering crowd says "The next show will be at 10 folks!" and walks away. Didn't see what happened next.

Gotta go to MGM.

Chris.

Love the mini live reports! Makes us feel like we're there! :cool1:
Have fun!
(let's just pretend the rainforest cafe family was a bad version of streetmosphere! )

Sorry to hear about the rain, and what a place to get stuck, its a small world after all...... I love all the rides you mentioned, and yes I agree, I enjoyed Oh Canada as well. I thought Martin Short was pretty good. As many children that I have seen melt down at WDW, I have seen parents just as bad (and sometimes worse). :confused3

Enjoy!!!

It's been a fast week, where has it gone? Man this sucks, it just goes by so quick. I need to still get in some nightime fireworks at MK and Epcot and only have three more days of passes for DW. We have two days of Universal passes so I'm hoping they have fireworks as well.

The lights at Disney Studios were incredible, set to music, just wild.
Did I tell you about Everest? It was even better sitting in the middle today, the other day we were at the front and it wasn't as good.
The Christmas store has spread out to every corner of the property to my wife's delight. Every shop, store, nook and cranny has Christmas in it.
During the day christmas is supressed but it all comes to life at night.

Anyway got to dinner at Boatwrights now so I gotta go. DDP is worth the money and is pretty easy once you get use to it.

Chris.

If you make it to MK again (I don't know if it is true for DTD), if you are the first to ask to decorate the Christmas tree in the christmas shop, they give you a personalized mickey head decoration. A friend has done it in the past, not sure if they still do it, worth the try though. I love WDW at Christmas, I do wish I could see the castle with all those lights, beautiful!!!!

Gotta agree with you about MVMCP.:santa:
All the hipe I heard, and it was just OK.
It was the second one of the season(Nov 15).
The weather had cooled down, low 50's and everyone was in down-filled jackets and hat& mit.........except the Canadians.
The park was more crowded than I expected, long lines for any characters, and huge crowds for the fireworks and parades. Both were quite good though, as was the show on the castle steps. We never did get the hot chocolate and cookies, or get to see the one show we wanted.
I just don't think we'll do it again, even with the DVC discount, it was very expensive.

The Osborne Family Lights were spectacular,.....can't believe some family had all that stuff in their yard.:scared1:

We just came back from a 5 night trip. Weather was spectacular.

We actually had a great time at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! We lined up at 6:30 to see Santa at 7:00 and we were the first in line! Main Street was crazy for the parade, so we ended up by chance in Frontierland and basically got great seats without waiting the hour that people did for front row seats in Main Street. Then we went to the front of the Castle for the fireworks show. Didn't line up for that either. Just found a spot in a prime place 15 mins before the show. I waiting hours for stuff like this, so felt that we scored big time!!! Wait for rides were significantly shorter. Gotta love that. Not loving the cost - $43ish for adults with our DVC membership discount.

Worst thing - got post-Disney blues now that we're back!:sad2:

We did a tour of World Showcase yesterday and stayed for IllumiNations. They've added some things since the last trip and some was for the holiday's.

We ate at the Yachtsman Steakhouse last night on the plan (2 credits), it was great food but other than my 24 ounce Porterhouse the rest was simular prices to all other TS. So I don't understand the double credit thing. The dinning plan is great for us and it is easy to use. Menu's are simple and if you have any questions the CM's always help you out and let you know your options.

We were running late yesterday to meet up with my aunt, so we drove to Epcot. The buses seem to be off some how on this trip and I don't think I will take them for the rest of the week. Last night at closing it was so much easier getting back to the hotel, my biggest fear was the traffic jam at the end of the night but there was none. I was a supporter of the buses but I'm starting to change that opinion.

We are almost Disney Parked out, so maybe we'll go wander around the downtown today.

Chris.

P.S. There are 1500 cheerleaders and all their parents this week on property, so it is a bit busier than last week and noisier:rotfl: .

Cheerleaders everywhere:scared1: :scared1:
Talking to a bunch of CM's this week and they said it will get worse by the weekend because the competitions will end Thurs. or Fri. and that is their free time. It really hasn't been busy compared to our April trips but the cheers as you are waiting in line or walking along is getting on the nerves.

Last night we had a great night on the carriage ride with our driver Alan and his horse Dave. A couple of nights ago we showed up for our ride and another family was there also. To make a long story short it was a mix up and we gave up our spot, couldn't disappoint the little girl that was with them. So we show up for our new appointment and Alan was joking with us because we were in tee shirts and he had a jacket on (southern boy never seen snow) needless to say it was a great outing. He also gave us a pin that you can't buy for doing what we did, that was pretty cool.

I've read on these boards to compliment CM's to their managers when they've done something to better your stay and we have done that to the surprise of most of them. 99% of the time people will take the time to complain but not many will take the time to praise. Apparently it goes in their file and helps with future raises and or promotions. So when you are down here and some CM makes your day make sure to make theirs.

Ate at Le Cellier tonight and it was as good as ever. Met two nice ladies from Boston at the next table and talked to them the whole time. That's what I love about Disney, meeting people from all over.

When to Universal Studios today and was not impressed overall but that Mummy ride was something else. Rode it three times, it was not busy at all, I could through a baseball down one of the streets and have a hard time hitting anyone. Hopefully tomorrow will be better at IOA.

Chris.

We were there last year Dec. 5-15 and we found the same thing! DD even commented on how irritated she was with the constant cheering!

we gave up our spot, couldn't disappoint the little girl that was with them.
That was so kind! You both should be showered in Pixie Dust! :wizard:

So when you are down here and some CM makes your day make sure to make theirs.
:thumbsup2

Sorry you were disspointed in MVMCP, we did it on Sunday and it was the best one ever. Hardly any crowds and we got great seats for the 1st parade no problem.

Maybe we've lucked out but we've hardly seen any cheerleaders. A few at MGM last night and some at dinner but not bothersome in any way. Weather sure has been amazing though.

Hope you enjoy the end of your trip.

Chris.

GREAT:headache: we are there this weekend. Hopefully they will go home Sunday night.............

Gah... we're eying this week in December for a few years from now... everything about the date seems perfect, but as much as I've heard people haven't been effected by the cheerleaders, I've heard people say they're a pain (and not just from those staying in value resorts). What to do, what to do...

We had a better day at Islands of Adventure today. It is a much Superior park to the Studios but again it was empty, great for us, rode all the big rides multiple times. Hulk 4x, Spiderman (amazing effects)4x and Dueling Dragons (that was just the weirdest effect coming that close to another coaster). Nothing was more than a 5 minute wait and that was because it took that long to walk through the empty waiting area's, most of the rides you came up and waited for the next car or jumped right on. I could not imagine waiting in those queues, they look like they could hold a thousand people easy.

Jurassic Park is a personal favourite of mine, I love the movies so I was loving this part of IOA, the music, the props and the ride. We also got an autograph and picture with Spiderman for our 4 yr old nephew. He's gonna freak out Uncle Chris and Aunt Amy met his hero:rotfl:

Had a couple of wild water rides but chickened out, just to cold to get that wet.

Had dinner at DTD tonight at Portobello Yacht Club it was great all around. Steak was melt in your mouth and Amy's lobster and pasta was amazing. It was expensive but worth it for a special night out, drinks were the killer on the bill.

Trivial,

Alan our carriage driver the other night said that a few years ago the cheer teams were banned from moderates and could only stay in values and he misses those days;) If they keep it up around Riverside it might happen again, the other night two kids gave to horse a start buy jumping towards it as it went by with people on board, the driver gave them hell very politely. Some others just horsing around and screaming. The ones with loud, rude and obnoxious adult leaders seem to be the ones that don't care about the people around them, go figure! The sad part is it is just like society, most teams are well behaved but the ones that aren't are making a bad name for all of them.
