Hi,

We are going on our first trip to WDW from July 8-15 this year. We are about 10 days away from 60 days out and needing to book our FP+. We are wanting to use some of our FP+ on non rides, things like fireworks, parades, shows etc. I know you are allowed 3 FP+ reservations per ticket but I remember hearing somewhere that you are not allowed to get any more FP in the park until all of your FP+ advanced reservations are used up (I hope this makes sense to everyone).

Is this correct? EG. We book a FP+ for the evening fireworks, if our other 2 are used by noon on that day are we out of luck for getting any FP while in the park that day?

This is correct. It is one of the major drawbacks to an evening FP+ of any sort.

Yes that is correct. You must use your prebooked 3 or they must expire before you are able to get any more. If you have FP for the evening fireworks you will not be able to get more until that one expires.

That is correct. If you have a wishes FP booked for the evening you will not be able to pull any more FPs until after wishes.

It should also be noted that your chances of booking 3 FP+s for the day and then trying to book an FP for wishes are slim to none.

Yes, and yes.

That's why most people here feel that it's not a good idea to get fastpasses for nighttime parades and shows.

Well, this is the great debate we have for our July vacation. I am certain that unless I book parade/fireworks 60 days out we are almost guaranteed to be shut out of same day fp for these. By booking Wishes we are shut out of a 4th fp. July is an extremely busy time and add the tour groups by the thousands and you would be lucky to get any 4th fp of value.

We scheduled FPs for early afternoons. At the end of April with moderate crowds it was pretty slim pickins for a 4th FP after 3pm. Even at Magic Kingdom. At MK we could get the rare BTM or SM after 3pm but for a very late time, like 9:30 - 10pm. Better than nothing I guess!

I was on the fence about using a FP for Wishes, but I am very glad we did. Our top 4 FP's were for 7DMT, Anna & Elsa , Peter Pan, and Wishes. We did RD, so we really did fine getting on anything we wanted with minimal waits.
