Fast pass newbie question

My fast pass reservation time window opens tomorrow at 7 am. I have linked my hotel confirmation to MDE and scanned in my tickets. I wanted to do a mock process on the app. I get to the create a FastPass+ party and go to continue but I receive a "not so Fast!" screen where it says link ticket/package or buy tickets. Is this because my window hasn't opened yet or did I do something wrong?

It's because your fastpass window hasn't opened yet. The system doesn't let you "practice" ahead of time.

If you linked ‘date based’ tickets, your window opens tomorrow at 7:00a ET. The system doesn’t give you access to book for tickets that aren’t yet considered valid for booking FPs.

This video walks you through exactly how to do it, what the screens look like, etc. There's a website that's like a blog post that does the same thing but I can't remember that one.
