Fast Pass/Magic Band help

So, I received our Fast Passes in the mail and went on-line to mydisneyexperience.com to set everything up. I first ordered our magic bands which basically just matched our name with a color preference. Next, I went in to set up the fast passes and logged in each of the card numbers from the fast passes and randomly chose who would get which one. They are each for ages 10+. I guess I'm wondering if I do that, then how will they ultimately match up to our magic bands? For example, if I chose the orange magic band, how will they match my fast pass to the band, since the bands are already ordered?

The bands link to your account and access its current information. They don't store anything, so any changes made to you account will be read by th band at any given moment of your trip.
