I found this photo of her - it really captures how beautiful she was.

That hair was just amazing.

May she rest in peace.

(That is a great picture of her)

Pretty woman, but she was a wacko. What a troubled life.

do you have no heart? I think it is so sad....It was so sweet ryan o neil stuck by her like he did.I hope this makes her son clean up his act, he will never forget that he was locked up when his mommy died.:sad1:

So sad. Yes, cancer sucks........
RIP Angel

Sorry. Didn't mean to offend anyone. I promise that if any other celebrities with questions about their mental health die in the near future, I won't say a word.

Anyone watching the 20/20 special with Barbara Walters?
Ryan O'Neil just broke my heart about what he said about Farrah. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

She really is an Angel now.

 She was one determined woman to face the fear of cancer with the fight she had within her. She is at peace now. I hope Ryan and Red will find the strength to get through their loss.

When I got home, it was the last few minutes of the show. I see it's scheduled to come back on, so I have my DVR set. I did see a snipit of Jaclyn Smith. She had very sweet things to say about her as a mother and friend that I thought was touching.

I have to say that I realize MJ's death was completely unexpected unlike Farrah's, but I would appreciate the media giving more airtime on Farrah's passing so she can have her moment.

Rest in Peace Farrah, you were an American Icon to my generation and a great actress. Thanks for always being a lady caring about others. You are one of God's Angels now.

I don't think she was a wacko at all. She may have made some choices that were really not the best (like the Playboy video and her David Letterman appearance), but I like to remember her for her work in Extremeties and The Burning Bed. She really was a fantastic actress.

Not to mention what she has done to raise cancer awareness.

In a strange way, it's sad that MJ's death is overshadowing Farrah's.

I feel the same.

Me too, in fact a few of us were just saying that very thing at lunch today. Perhaps it is better this way. Farrah's family may be able to mourn without the press hounding them (since apparently every press person is covering MJ's death).

I'm sure their families will thank you for that..:sad2:

I don't mean this to sound mean, but it is strange to me that Farrah's death is getting so much attention. I really think the only reason this is happening is because of her recent special. I watched it and was very moved by it. But, in the grand scheme of things, she wasn't that big a star.

I don't mean that her life was any less important than anyone else. It was, but there have been many celebrities die that were much bigger stars than Farrah. I don't remember seeing a special about Paul Newman. He was in an incredible star. He was also very much into cancer research and he started the camp for kids with cancer.

I guess I'm just trying to point out that Michael Jackson was, IMHO, a great deal more famous than Farrah. He was an icon. Also, his death was unexpected. It only makes sense that there would so much on the news about him. That doesn't take away from her death.

Farrah Fawcet wasn't a big star because of her acting in Charlies or her TV movies...she was a big star because of what she did for an entire generation of girls (the hair) and the boys(the poster). She became an icon in a very short time...she made an imprint and I was shocked when I heard she was only on Charlie's Angels for a year...it seemed longer. How many stars make that big of an impression because of one year on a show?? She influenced hairstyles for generations to come.

Yes, she had her problems, and unfortunately, they were very public. But still...very sad.

She was also deliberately more private. That changed when she decided to come forward about her cancer. That to me is what made her special. She brought rectal cancer awareness out in the open.

I don't like to compare the measure of one celebrity when discussing or memorializing deaths. There is no doubt the MJ was a huge super star. But, his impact on humanity was purely as ir pertained to entertainment (although one could argue that he brought black pop music into the mainstream). Farrah had a more socially conscious impact.

I heard on the news or read that her son was by her side along with Ryan O'Neal when she passed away. Her services will be private at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels (kind of fitting, isn't it?) in Los Angeles. No cameras even allowed, I think.

I also heard or read that....only once though. So I do suspect that was a false report. The LA Times reported that he was told by a chaplin while he was in jail of her death. Additionally, I saw an interview done by Dr. Lawrence Piro that when asked who was with her when she passed, he stated it was himself, Ryan, Alana Stewart, and her other close friend and hairdresser Mela Murphy. I also saw a print article from Mela who stated the same people.

I did see in the news today that Redmond will be given the opportunity to go to the funeral. I'm thankful to hear that.
