fantasyland fastpass question...

We're only getting ONE day at Disney doing the MK (mid June).

Since we have little ones, we plan on heading to Fantasyland first thing after opening and doing 4 things: Small World, Pooh, Peter Pan and Philharmagic (we've got an elephant ride and carrousel at our local theme park so we're skipping Dumbo and the Disney Carrousel).

My question is: what order should we do these 4 attractions to be as efficient as possible? I'd like to get these done before our PS in the castle at 12:50 pm for lunch. Should we do Small World first and while in line have my DH get FP's to the other 3? Or just 2? Or can we get only 1 at a time? Just a little confused about the FP thing and how they work.

We've found the fastest way to accomplish Fantasyland is to go to the walkway to the right of the castle (leads straight into teacups ride) Walk straight to the teacups and turn left get immediately on the Pooh ride and enjoy, then go to Peter Pan and ride, then Philharmagic and finally small world.
Not having to do Dumbo will save you lots of time as it's a very slow loading ride. You can usually get right on the carousel without any wait so you might check that out as well as Snow White after you've done all the other rides.

As far as fastpass if you arrive at park opening which should be 9AM and get a fastpass for Peter Pan or Pooh, the earliest return time to use that fastpass will probably be 10AM so you should already be well on your way to finishing the rides by then. If the park seems extra busy you might have your husband get fastpasses for everyone for Peter Pan while you are riding Pooh, then do Philharmagic and then small world and then use your fastpass for Peter Pan.
When we have done this in the past we are usually done with Fantasyland by 10AM.

You should be able to easily accomplish this, especially if you are there first thing in the morning. Get a FastPass for Pooh, then ride Peter Pan first, while waiting for the FastPass time for Pooh to open. Philharmagic doesn't need a FastPass that early, as it holds a large number of people at one time, and Small World is also easier to load than Pooh or Peter Pan. Once you've ridden Peter Pan, you should still have time to ride Small World or see Philharmagic before your window opens for Pooh. Once the fastPass time opens, ride Pooh, then see either Small World or Philharmagic if you didn't get to see them earlier. Make sense?

You should really have time to do the teacups as well, if you want, or do Dumbo or the caroussel. If you have extra time and don't want to do other rides, you should have time for some shopping in Tinkerbell's Shop or a stroll over to Toontown to soak up some atmosphere there.

Ditto everything valeriekc wrote about FP and ride order! Can't believe I'm going to recommend it -- as I do not like spinning or any sort of motion-sick-generating rides -- but DD7, DS7 and DH convinced me to try Mad Hatter/Tea Cups with little to no spinning, and I'm glad I did it. Just worth a thought, you might want to ride. Not doing Dumbo will be a huge effort/time saver. Also, we loved IASW, rode it twice. And loved PhilharMagic (saw it a 2nd time later in trip)! Buzz was also huge hit (did twice) -- know it's not Fantasyland, but you could grab fastpasses before PS and go later. Toontown face painting was also huge hit, but that was a chunk of time waiting in line. Sorry, I'm wandering from Fantasyland.

I'm so glad that you all think those things are doable in the AM before lunch. Yes, I guess we could also do the Carrousel and those other Fantasyland things... but the way I see it, we've got a carrousel at our local theme park plus an "elephant" ride (very similar to DUMBO), we have a spinning tea cup ride too (we have season passes to this local park so we'll get to do those rides all summer long).

So, I've decided since we only have ONE day at Disney, we're going to do only pure "Disney" things (like Pooh, Peter Pan, Small World etc) that we can't do here locally. If we have time to kill (which I don't think we will), we might ride the carrousel around a time or two... but as it stands, there are 11 of us going ages 1-64 (3 strollers and 1 electric wheelchair). We're going to be a slow-moving bunch at best!

I think after Fantasyland doing Pooh, Pan, Philharmagic and Small World... if we have time we'll go over to Toontown and play in Minnie/Mickey's houses. Afterwards, my SIL will take the boy cousins to do BUZZ, Tom Sawyer Island and Pirates of the Carribean. I'll take the girls and try to catch Cinderellabration. But I think I read that Cinerellabration won't start again in the afternoon until 4:30 pm. I wish there was a 2 o'clock showing. Oh well... maybe the "girls" and I could head over to Ariel's grotto or storytime with Belle until time for the princess show.
