Fantasy - Why no cruises from the end of April until end of May 2017?

Does anyone know if the Fantasy is going into dry dock for about 3 weeks at the end of April until middle/late of May 2017? There are no cruises showing for that time on the website. Thanks!

Dry dock was my guess when I saw that. I was disappointed because I was thinking about booking a 7 night on the Fantasy for my birthday in 2017. Oh well, I can either celebrate early, late, or considering the prices, go with a different cruise line.

We had originally planned to book May 6th for my parents' 50th anniversary (which is on May 6th), but ended up with April 22. We ended up with a really good rate, and now our wait is reduced by two weeks as well.

I am bummed, as I was looking for something at the beginning/mid May, but may move to the April 22nd sailing now. The prices are pretty good for that one. Amazing that they are $3000 to $3,500 more for the weeks before with Spring Break. I will take my kids out of school for the week rather than pay those higher rates...Holy smokes!

I cannot officially confirm but I have that from what has always been a very, very reliable source of info. Also, given the age of the Fantasy, it would be time. All ships have to have their hulls inspected and take care of necessary maintenance. Even the best maintained ships must come out of the water periodically.

It's a guess, but a logical one. Dream is currently in Freeport for her 5-year drydock. April/May is a bit beyond 5 years for Fantasy (her MV was 3/31/12), but close enough for it to make sense for her 5-year check-up.
