The Disney Fantasy has "experienced technical issue with the propulsion system" during the current Sept 2nd cruise. The ship appears skipped the stop at CC and is heading directly back to PC.

DCL just sent this email to guest scheduled to depart Sep 9th:

09/08/2023

We are writing to provide additional information regarding your September 9, 2023, sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy.

Earlier this week, we communicated a necessary modification to your original itinerary as a result of potential impacts from Hurricane Lee. Yesterday evening, the Disney Fantasy experienced a technical issue with the propulsion system that is causing the ship to sail at a reduced rate of speed. There is no impact on the maneuverability of the ship, or on the safety of our Guests and Crew.

Until the ship arrives to Port Canaveral and repairs can be completed, we are uncertain if there will be additional impacts to your itinerary. We will provide you an update as soon as we can, but that may not be until after you board the ship tomorrow.

Should you have questions or wish to cancel your sailing before boarding for a full refund, please contact your travel agent.

The Cast and Crew onboard the Disney Fantasy look forward to welcoming you onboard and are dedicated to ensuring that you and your family have an enjoyable vacation.

Sincerely,

Cast & Crew
Disney Cruise Line

If anyone recalls when the Wonder broke their propeller last year (pretty sure @Timon documented it), they just sat in port until pretty late that night on the next cruise. I can't imagine them cancelling the whole cruise though.

Looks like she is doing 16 kts with about 130 nautical miles to go. ETA to Port Canaveral at 7:15 AM tomorrow.

I’m on it and I don’t see cancellation as an option based on the email … I honestly don’t care at this point. I’ll be happy to have some R&R on my favorite cruise ship. :-)

Fantasy had issues a few years back. I remember we were late boarding and left Canaveral late and had one port switched. I'm sure they'll have it fixed while guests are boarding. Too much money to lose cancelling an 8 night cruise

Yes I never pick anything before 2, my anxiety won't let me lol
Same!

Stressing about getting to the airport for an early flight is NOT how I want to end my vacation. I'm perfectly happy finding a chair to curl up in at the airport and read for a bit.

This kind of has me a little concerned about my upcoming trip. Silly I know since my cruise on this ship is in November. I guess I'll just adapt & like others said just get me on the ship. Especially since I prefer sea days anyway.

We're on the Fantasy Sept. 16 - between the storm (how I try to minimize a Cat. 5 Hurricane impacting the eastern seaboard flights) & now maintenance issues I hope DCL is handing out beverages as we board.

We are on fantasy now, and now we add medical emergency that is going to cause a delay into Cozumel tomorrow. So they are working on excursions with the vendors.

Oh my goodness. Hope they are ok. Did you have to stop to evacuate them?
