How weird would it be to request a previous server? (I know it may not be easy considering they most likely have moved on to a different ship or left DCL, but you never know.)

We had an absolutely amazing assistant server last time and while I know it would just be a request, I'd love to be able to have him again.

I don't even know if I can remember his name at all so it may be completely moot unless I find some of my photos of him have his name tag showing.

His name will be on the gratuity receipt from your cruise (if you kept it).

It's not weird at all. There are several people who do just what you're asking about.

Just give DCL a call and request him. If he's on the ship, and still a server, you have decent chance of getting him. Of course, you've got to give DCL a chance to figure out who he is, a name, country he's from, anything you can remember.

I also agree, not weird at all. Depending on what ship we are on we either do request some of our favorite servers (several are friends now) or roll the dice so we can meet more awesome ones. It also "helps" them as requesting them looks good for them and it's tracked so in a way if they are that good you want to request them again, DCL pays attention to that. @PrincessShmoo has already mentioned the gratuities receipt and I keep these from all our sailings in case I need to refer back to them so hopefully you might have it somewhere.
