Fantasy February 16, 2013 - 7 Night Western Cruise Meet

Myself, DH, and DD(8) will be joining you! ALL of us are first time cruisers and first time to Florida. DD will turn 9 on the cruise. Thanks for all the countdowns and pictures!

Welcome!! I'm even more excited about this cruise than I was for our first and second (back to back) DCL cruise!

How exciting for all your firsts!! There's lots of folks here with loads of sage advice. So, please feel free to ask questions.

We're booked on this cruise now too! :cool1: This will be our first Disney cruise, first cruise ever for DD, who will be 9 when we sail. We are booked in a category 05E... but we got a GTY and not a room assignment yet. The category looks pretty awesome.

I can't wait for this cruise! Haven't cruised since our honeymoon in 1999! We are a Disney loving family, so we're looking forward to this!

Chriss

:welcome: to all the newbies!! For those of you who are first time cruisers...please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. There are many veteran cruisers on this thread and we are all more than happy to answer ANY questions. And remember the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. We were all first time cruisers at one point and had lots of questions, so we know how it is. :goodvibes

I see a couple of you have DD's that will be 9 at the time of sailing! :yay: My DD will be turning 9 in two months...hopefully they'll all get to hang out together!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Welcome aboard! We had that category when we were on the Dream last year and ended up with 5544. We loved the extended balcony! There appears to be a lot of girls in the 9-10 age bracket so it looks like there will be lots of new friends to be made :cool1:

If there is a mixology at 4 and a Margarita tasting at 5, do you skip those so you can attend the Remy dinner @ 7? Or do you let it rip, consume as much alcohol as you can in two hours and hope that you remember the dinner?:confused3

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

My weekend has sucked! All I've been doing is work by remodeling the bedroom while my wife goes and sees movies with her friends!:sad2:

I am not a fan of Margarita (the whole when you were younger thing with tequila :faint:

This will be our first FE what are some of the memorable items received and some of the went right in the garbage items??

Has any FE's or their contents been stolen?

Ooh Oooh I can answer that! You do both and then they give you the private Gusteau room in Remy so you won't disturb the less inebriated guests :rotfl2:

What we learned during tequila/margarita tasting on the last cruise ... No Jose Cuervo  This explains the effects of my tequila expereinces during my mis spent youth :rotfl:

Wow! Way too many cool things to list them all. I'd need an entire page to list some of the awesome gifts we have received :goodvibes

just trying to begin the process of thinking what we are going to do for the FE trying to get ideas of what are memorable gifts and what to stay away from.

Cant wait to see the Navigators for this itinerary to get an idea of the fun...

I will keep my Navigators from the Fantasy Maiden Voyage next month and scan and post here so everyone can get a look see. The itinerary is the same as this sailing.

Why Terrie, I think that was a sly way of you bragging that you will be on the Maiden Voyage... :rotfl2:

Hope everything is good with you and the robot. Life is not bad up north here. Can't wait to be on this cruise. I need to see what is going on but I am leaning toward a WDW trip around August/Sept with my dad.

Talk to you soon! (Angel, Skylar and Bella send their love)

Well of course it is Andy :upsidedow If I could shout it from the rooftops and not get arrested, I would

Wally is good thanks :goodvibes Yes, I am REALLY looking forward to this cruise too. We'll be in WDW for Halloween and Food & Wine as usual.

Love n hugs to all from us and of course Savvy & Meeko too

First, you have to make sure you don't miss the sweet wine tasting at 3. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Yes, but she'll be sooooo appreciative when it's all done.:cloud9::love:

Has any FE's or their contents been stolen?

We had some things stolen out of our FE on our first cruise. And I don't know if someone tried to steal the FE, but the ribbon on our FE was twisted round and round. So, someone was playing with it. I put a wire tie on it, so it made it hard for someone to walk away with it. :confused3

I don't know. I didn't use Jose when I made your Italian Margaritas, but I had some ... interesting ... effects from my overindulgence. :rotfl2:

Hi Debbie :wave2: Looks like we were posting about the same time  Hope you guys are having a great weekend :goodvibes

:wave2: Hi Terrie! We are having a pretty good weekend! We hung out with Dan & Sue Friday night. Then yesterday, I did two coats of primer and two coats of paint on two of the walls in the bedroom. Last night I went to see The Vow with my High School BFF. Today we put the border up, but now I have to go to Home Depot and get some seam repair because the bottom of the border didn't glue to the wall. And I'll spend the rest of the day trying to clean up the room. So it's a productive weekend! But it's still good! :goodvibes

Oh...there is no "skipping" of anything allowed on a Disney Cruise! You do as much as you can....if there's something on the navigator that you think you want to do, you do it. And if there's something you think you want to do that's not on the navigator, you tell Terrie to go ask guest services to add it. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

And....may I remind you....I painted FOUR coats on two of the bedroom walls yesterday before I went to the movies?!?! All you did was move furniture around and put up a ceiling fan! Ya lazy bum!

My favorites are home made things. And, actually, last year the most practical gift we got was a bag full of multiple sized ziploc bags. You wouldn't believe how handy those were! Some people have given away mini containers of adult beverages, frames, photo albums, couzie's (sp?), those aluminum beverage containers, tote bags, backpacks, giant paper clips with a magnet on the back to put on the fridge, magnets, keychains, luggage tags. I could go on an on, I'm sure there are great gifts that I've forgotten to mention on here. You can find awesome DISigns (I can give you the links to a couple of threads) to personalize for the cruise.

We put a zip tie on our FE so nobody can take it. And as far as gifts being taken out of it...I'm not sure...if that's ever happened to us. I guess I wouldn't know unless I was comparing gifts with what everyone else got. But that's hard to do too because some people give out different gifts to each stateroom. It's sad that this is even something that is discussed...people should have more respect for other people. :sad2:

Don't let him fool you, Karen, I've worked equally as hard in that room...in fact I've probably done more work than he has. But all in all he's done more work on other projects than I have.

Great to hear that there will be some other 9-10 girls on the ship!

Hubby is wondering if there is a refillable beer mug available on board?

Thanks for the welcomes! I do have one question...does anyone have experience with getting their dining seating assignment changed? We got second seating, can't believe first is gone already! Second seating will not work with a 9 year old, at least not mine...or DH, for that matter! Lol!

Chriss

Hi Everyone -

My family will also be sailing the Fantasy 2/16 :cool1: Kids don't know yet - think I might keep it a secret until Christmas (if I can).

We are DH Jim, DD Jessica (10 when we cruise), DS James (9 when we cruise) and me (Jeannine).

Happy planning everyone :goodvibes

Hi !

If you haven't yet, call DCL and ask to be put on the Wait List for early dining. Since we are so far out chances are it will come through for you. If it doesn't then make sure you attend the dining session around 1PM day when we board (get there when they open) and speak do the dining room manager. Sending some pixie dust your way :wizard:
