This is our families first Disney Cruise participating in the Fish Extender. This forum is for those families who would like to participate in the Fish Extender (FE) Exchange Group for the September 6th 2014 Disney Fantasy Cruise! We will be closing this forum after we have 7 families total participating. We have such a small group because we understand that with this length of cruise and all the necessities you will be packing space is limited. If you'd like to join, please post here that you'd like to join. Then for privacy, please E-mail me at andrewacuna83 @ gmail.com the following information:

*Cabin number
*First names or nicknames, ages of kids in cabin and if they are boy or girl
*Include any information describing each person:
*Profession
*Hobbies
*Favorite Disney character
*Special celebrations for the family or individual
*Any food allergies, etc
**I have seen mini alcoholic beverages as FE gift. Please include if the adults would prefer not to receive this as a gift.
* An email address for your family
If you are uncomfortable posting any of the personal information, you can simply say "Adult, Male" or "Girl, 8" for example.
For those who are new to this fun cruise experience, the Fish Extender itself is a pocket panel you hang from the fish shaped hook outside your stateroom. These can be homemade or you can purchase them on sites like Etsy, you can also find some pictures on Google or DIS forums. Families that join the FE group hang the Fish Extender outside their cabin and then exchange little gifts with others participating in the group by putting little gifts in each others extenders.
It's a ton of fun, not just for kids, and you can either give one gift to each cabin, or a gift to each person in the cabin. You can give gifts a few times throughout the cruise or just once. No real set rules just exchange and have fun! Gifts can be homemade or store bought. That's part of the fun . . . the variety of gifts that everyone brings!
Here are a few things to remember:
1. The gift exchange will start on Saturday 6th and end on Friday the 12th.
2. Each family will have an assigned day. This gives each family 1 turn to be the gift giver and 6 days of fun surprises. Once we have 7 participating families total I will send out a sign up list with the day you wish to be the gift giving family.
3. Minimum is 1 gift but you are always welcome to give more. Gifts can be given to each individual person, or to a family as a whole.
4. As silly as it sounds dont forget your fish extender! There are many tutorials on Pintrest on how to make your own or you can purchase them on Etsy.
5. Your family will want to keep your FE as a reminder of a great time. With that said bring something to secure it. Ive heard that zip ties work well.
6. Many forums and Pins recommend giving a thank you note to those in your group.
7. Please include a tag with your DISboards user name on the gift. This way everyone knows who the gift is from.
I will add the first 6 families that respond to me by email.
